The Beretta 93R is a selective-fire 9x19mm machine pistol. The "R" stands for "Raffica" which means 'burst' in Italian. It was designed in the 70s and meant for police and military use - Its offering of extra firepower in a small package made it ideal for concealed-carry purposes such as VIP protection, or for close quarters fighting such as room-to-room searches.
Based on the Beretta 92 series pistols, the 93R is single-action and outfitted with a folding foregrip, muzzle brake, an optional detachable shoulder stock and a 20-round magazine. A selector switch allows the pistol to fire three-round bursts with each pull of the trigger for a potential cyclic rate of 1100 rpm - The three-round burst limitation was to allow it to be more easily controlled compared to full automatic. It is currently out of production.
Note: Some Beretta 93R pistols used in films are visually modified Beretta 92FS pistols converted to full auto to imitate a 93R. Look to see whether the gun has a slide mounted decocking safety (which would show it is in fact a 92F), or an 'enlarged' trigger guard or a frame mounted slide stop safety (showing it is a genuine 93R).

Beretta 93R "Auto 9"
The "Auto 9" is a heavily modified Beretta 93R that was originally built for the titular protagonist of the 1987 film RoboCop. The pistol is fitted with an extended casket-shaped barrel with a raised front sight and matching enlarged rear sight. While made specifically for RoboCop, it has been such a popular design that it has since been reused in numerous other forms of media, including the film and TV sequels and spin-offs to RoboCop.

Reck Miami 93
The Reck Miami 93 is a blank firing version of the Beretta 93R. It is basically a Reck Miami 92 with a Beretta 93 style frontgrip. It can be distinguished by the safety lever that looks the same as that of a Beretta 92 and by the trigger guard that is not as large as a Beretta 93 trigger guard. It can also only fire semi automatic, so there is no fire mode selection lever.
