Law & Order: Special Victims Unit - Season 2
The following lists the weapons seen in Season 2 of the series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit:
Handguns
Glock 19
The Glock 19 is the sidearm carried by the majority of NYPD detectives in the Special Victims Unit including Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni), Detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), Detective John Munch (Richard Belzer), and Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola (Ice-T). Captain Donald Cragen (Dann Florek) is sometimes seen carrying one in some episodes. Uniformed NYPD Officers are seen using Glock 19s as well. Like many television shows and films, many times when a Glock is seen being drawn, the sound effect of a hammer cocking is heard (despite the fact that Glocks are hammerless).
Smith & Wesson Model 36
A Smith & Wesson Model 36 is found in a suspect's residence in "Noncompliance" (S2E06).
Smith & Wesson 5946
Cragen holds what appears to be a Smith & Wesson 5946 that was used by an NYPD Sergeant during a hostage situation in "Runaway" (S2E16).
Desert Eagle
Former rape victim Harper Anderson (Tracy Pollan) is seen firing a polished chrome/stainless Desert Eagle at a firing range in "Closure: Part 2" (S2E03). She refers to it as a ".50 caliber double-action Desert Eagle, 14-shot clip.". In reality the Desert Eagle does not have a capacity of 14 rounds in any of its calibers.
Rifles / Carbines
Colt XM177E1 "Commando"
Colt XM177E1 "Commando" assault carbines are seen carried by ATF agents during a raid in "Manhunt" (S2E18). These are likely MGC CAR-15 Replicas.
Remington 700PSS
The NYPD ESU snipers are seen armed with the Remington 700PSS rifle throughout Season 2.
Ruger AC556 Carbine
A Ruger AC556 Carbine with a full stock is carried by ATF agents in "Manhunt" (S2E18).
Shotguns
Ithaca 37
The Ithaca 37 shotgun is another weapon frequently carried by NYPD ESU and other SWAT officers in the series. ATF agents raiding a cabin carry different models of the Ithaca in "Manhunt" (S2E18).
