The fourteenth season of Law & Order was notable for being the final season for actor Jerry Orbach, who had portrayed Detective Lennie Briscoe for 12 seasons. Season 14 also marked only the second time that the series did not undergo any major cast changes for two successive seasons. In the season's 19th episode "Nowhere Man", Michael Bloomberg, then the mayor of New York City, made an appearance as himself.
Cast:
- Law
- Detective Lennie Briscoe - Jerry Orbach
- Detective Ed Green - Jesse L. Martin
- Lieutenant Anita Van Buren - S. Epatha Merkerson
- Order
- Executive Assistant District Attorney Jack McCoy - Sam Waterston
- Assistant District Attorney Serena Southerlyn - Elisabeth Röhm
- District Attorney Arthur Branch - Fred Dalton Thompson
The following weapons were used in Season 14 of the television series Law & Order:
Revolvers
Smith & Wesson Model 36
For the majority of the series, Detective Lennie Brisco (Jerry Orbach) carries a Smith & Wesson Model 36 revolver. Despite the NYPD having officially switched to automatic pistols on January 1st, 1994, more senior officers like Briscoe were grandfathered in and allowed to continue carrying revolvers.
Goof
In the teaser of "Patient Zero" (S14E03), a gunshot is heard offscreen, and then the camera swings around to a carjacker dropping a driver on the ground. It's later revealed that the driver is dead with a single gunshot wound to the chest, and a matching ".38" found in the driver's possession.
Pistols
Glock 19
Detective Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin) and other NYPD officers are armed with Glock 19 pistols.
M1911A1
CSU Technician Grier (Rich Duva) finds a victim's M1911A1 in "Bounty" (S14E02).
Beretta 92FS
Ballistics tech Evan Underberg (Peter Smith) handles a Beretta 92FS in "Embedded" (S14E08). It is referred to as a military issue M9. This episode mistakenly states that all soldiers are issued sidearms, although in this case, both Sgts. George Meacham (Keith Nobbs} and Dixon Hawes (never seen onscreen) might've been issued pistols as NCOs. This episode also shows soldiers being able to take their weapons back from combat zones, which would not be permitted in real life.
Unknown pistol
An unknown pistol is seen in the ballistics lab in "Embedded" (S14E08).
Shotguns
Ithaca 37
A police officer is seen with an Ithaca 37 in "Patient Zero" (S14E03).
Rifles/Carbines
MGC M16
A police office is seen with what is likely an MGC M16 replica with A2 handguards in "Patient Zero" (S14E03).
