Platforms: PC
Genre: First-Person Shooter

Military Conflict: Vietnam is a Vietnam War-oriented multiplayer first-person shooter developed by Dustfade.

The following weapons appear in the video game Military Conflict: Vietnam:

Overview

Loadouts in Military Conflict: Vietnam are divided into six classes: Assault, Medic, Gunner, Sniper, Engineer, and Radioman. The only differences between these classes are their selection of weapons and their choice of a special "equipment" item; each team (U.S. Army and Việt Cộng) has their own pool of weapons that are not available to the other team. Of these, Assault has no equipment, Medic has a medical kit, Gunner has an ammo box, Sniper has a flare gun, Engineer has access to a tertiary weapon (usually an explosive of some type), and Radioman has binoculars that allow for airstrikes to be called.

Players can carry a primary weapon, a secondary pistol, their melee weapon, two types of grenade, and their class's equipment item.

Weapons have working fire selectors in MC:V; however, switching between modes doesn't actually move the modelled selector switches.

Pistols

Almost every pistol is available to every class, except for Sniper, which is restricted to a limited selection of suppressed pistols.

Colt M1911A1

The Colt M1911A1 is available to all U.S. Army classes except the Sniper.

Colt M1911A1 - .45 ACP
A US GI holding the classic .45 ACP pistol, rambling about something that he can't expect God to do all the work.
Aiming down the sights, which are a bit rounder than usual.
After dumping a mag of .45 in the wall and breaking every range rule, the GI slides in a fresh mag...
...then presses the slide release.
The GI threatens an M1911 with his Smith & Wesson.
Aiming down the sights of Sally.
Reloading the empty pistols, miffed that he doesn't have access to the Universal Offscreen Reloader.
Don't forget the left one.

FN Baby Browning

The diminutive FN Baby Browning (originally exclusive to gun game mode) is available to every U.S. Army class except for Sniper. Its usage in-game stems from MACV-SOG teams being issued with pistols as a last resort gun.

FN Baby Browning (1965 production) - .25 ACP
It might not be a Kolibri, but its heart is still the same.
Having decided to forsake all sensible armament, the GI aims the tiny pocket pistol.
"Awww, what a cute gun and a cute magazine..."
Finishing the reload of the pistol.
Unimpressed by the Baby Browning, the US soldier decides to hold it hostage with a much better handgun.
Congratulations! It's twins!
Aiming the akimbo Brownings. Military Conflict: Vietnam is a rare instance of a video game that allows you to properly aim down dual-wielded guns.
Reloading the Baby Brownings. With a gun like this, having two of them is always a welcome improvement.
Reloading the other pistol.

FN P-35

The FN P-35 is available as a sidearm for every U.S. Army class apart from Sniper. The in-game pistol has Inglis markings, implying that it is supposed to be a Canadian-made Inglis Hi-Power, but it also has wood grips which the Inglis pistols don't have.

FN P-35 - 9x19mm Parabellum
An American GI holds a Hi-Power, hoping the Aussie bloke he nicked it off won't notice.
Checking the P-35's early pattern adjustable rear sights.
Having somehow not been caught yet after magdumping, the GI loads in a new mag...
...and releases the slide.
The GI decides he's had enough fun with the Hi-Power.
Or maybe not enough.
Aiming down the sights, although one could reasonably make the argument that he's striking a cool pose for the camera.
Reloading the right pistol...
...and the left one.

High Standard HDM

The High Standard HDM is available only to the U.S. Army Sniper class. While having more ammunition than the Sniper's other pistols, its stopping power is somewhat limited due to its small cartridge.

High Standard HDM - .22 LR
Having had enough of this sniping business, an American sniper (no, not that one) tries to see if .22 can take down a concrete barrier.
Aiming at a different section of wall.
Finding that concrete is quite resistant to .22 Long Rifle, the sniper reloads...
...and chambers the HDM, wondering how he could defeat this nefarious obstacle.
The HDM's world model.
Meanwhile, another sniper decides to take all the subtlety out of the HDM.
Looking through the sights.
Reloading one half of the pair...
...and the other.

Homemade pistol

An example of a 3-shot pistol made by the Việt Cộng appears in the shooting range in the Training Camp. It's one of two pistols in the game to be manually-operated.

Homemade pistol manufactured by the Viet-cong - 9mm
A U.S. infantryman holds a crude VC pistol, wondering if it'd make for a good war trophy.
Aiming down the simple sights.
Cycling the pistol is a rather involved process; it starts by pushing the three-shot clip up one round...
...then manually flicking out the spent round and (seen here) recocking the striker.
Loading a new clip in. One could theoretically make this clip as long as they wanted and it would still function with no troubles whatsoever. Practicality, though, is another issue.

Makarov PB

The Makarov PB is available to the Việt Cộng Sniper. Though accurate for the time period, no PBs were ever delivered to North Vietnam.

Makarov PB - 9x18mm Makarov
A Việt Cộng marksman wonders how he got his hands on this pistol.
Undeterred, he aims down its sights.
Reloading the PB.
Tugging the slide.
The PB's world model.
Not impressed with one impossible-to-acquire gun, the Việt Cộng sniper goes akimbo.
Aiming, again using this somewhat odd pose.
Reloading one gun...
...and the other.

Makarov PM

The Makarov PM is available to all Việt Cộng classes except Sniper.

Makarov PM - 9x18mm Makarov
Having had enough of impossibly exotic sidearms, the VC holds a rather more boring pistol.
Aiming down the boring pistol's boring sights at a boring wall.
Reloading. Again, in a boring, uninteresting manner.
Racking the slide.
Looking at the boring pistol with a somewhat more interesting handgun.
The VC decides to grab another Makarov, in an attempy to remedy its lack of intrigue.
It doesn't work.
Hopefully reloading will be a little more interesting than normal. Maybe?
Apparently not.

Mamba pistol

The Mamba pistol. Its presence in the game is due being an asset for a planned upcoming Rhodesian Bush War expansion, as it would be otherwise anachronistic.

MAS M1935S

The leftover French MAS M1935S is available to all Việt Cộng classes apart from Sniper.

MAC M1935S - 7.65x20mm Longue
A VC fighter takes his French pistol out for some sightseeing. Or, rather, back of shooting range-seeing.
Aiming at a higher contrast section of wall.
Loading in a new magazine.
About to release the slide.
Looking at an M1935S amongst its other captive brethren.
Dual-wielding the '35. Would that make it a '70, then?
Aiming.
Reloading; same process as usual.
This one too.

Mauser C96

The Mauser C96 is available to all Việt Cộng classes except the Sniper. An odd choice, but more than likely representing a mixture of Warlord era Chinese examples that showed up during the conflict.

Mauser C96 - 7.63x25mm Mauser
A Việt Cộng soldier brings his Mauser out to a lovely vacation at the beach.
Taking a closer look at the shore using the sights.
Loading the pistol with a new clip, after surely annoying his fellow beach-goers.
Releasing the bolt.
The VC finds he's dropped his pistol in the sand, peeved that he now has to clean it.

Mk 22 Mod 0

The Mk 22 Mod 0 "Hush Puppy" is available exclusively to the U.S. Army Sniper. Other than being fitted with a sound suppressor and high-profile iron sights, it retains the same stats as the regular Smith & Wesson 39 below; its slide-locking lever is neither usable nor modeled, the pistol being incorrectly shown with a standard slide release lever.

Mk 22 Mod 0 with wood grips - 9x19mm Parabellum
Holding the Hush Puppy against a concrete wall. You might argue that it wouldn't be terribly effective at hushing a concrete wall, but have you heard this one talking? Exactly.
Taking a look through the suppressor-height sights.
Raising the pistol to drop the magazine; this gives a good view of the standard slide-release lever, which is (not engaged, but is) presumably why the pistol locks open on empty instead of staying shut like an actual Mk 22.
Inserting a fresh magazine with definitely not tranquilizer rounds.
Looking down at the pistol, next to the game's other suppressed sidearms.
"Stealth is optional for this mission."
Probably not Naked Snake aims down his akimbo Hush Puppies.
Reloading. Note that the chamber is modelled as part of the slide; this also applies to the Model 39 below.
Once more.

Nambu Type 14

The transitional model of the Nambu Type 14 is available to all Việt Cộng classes except Sniper. The presence of the Nambu in-game is accurate, as Nambu Type 14s were used during the war, albeit sparingly.

Nambu Type 14 (transitional model with larger trigger guard but original cocking knob) - 8x22mm Nambu
A Việt Cộng soldier holds his World War II relic.
Sight picture.
Reloading the Nambu.
Tugging on the bolt.
Looking at a Type 14 with its German cousin.
The dual-wielding beach, as usual.
Aiming.
Reloading one gun...
...and the other.

Shanxi Type 17

A relic of the Warlord era, the Shansi Type 17 is available to the Việt Cộng Medic and Radioman. Unlike the regular C96, the Type 17 is a primary weapon (classed as a carbine in-game) and is permanently fitted with its holster stock.

Shanxi Type 17 with shoulder stock - .45 ACP
A VC soldier with the Big Mama of handguns.
Aiming; a little closer than the Mauser this time.
Reloading; sadly, 10-round clips would only be developed by the time of the Sino-American War, leaving our VC with only 5-round clips to top up his pistol with.
Releasing the bolt.
The Shanxi's world model.

Smith & Wesson 39-2

The Smith & Wesson 39-2 is available to all American classes except the Sniper.

Smith & Wesson 39-2 - 9x19mm Parabellum
A GI holds his Model 39 on the wrong side of the range.
Aiming down the iron sights.
Reloading; an identical process to the Hush Puppy above. Which makes sense.
Thumbing the slide release.
The pistol being held hostage by one of its revolver cousins.
Now here's a question: which one is Smith, and which one is Wesson?
That's something for you to decide.
Reloading; as with the Mk 22, the chamber is for some reason modelled as part of the slide.
It also applies to the other gun, for the record.

Stechkin APS

The Stechkin APS is available to the Việt Cộng Medic, Engineer, and Radioman classes. Similarly to the Shanxi above, the Stechkin is a primary weapon, classed under the machine pistols category, and is fitted with its shoulder stock. When using the Stechkin APS akimbo however, the stock won't be attached.

Stechkin APS with wooden stock - 9x18mm Makarov
Holding the Stechkin. Note that the player character braces his left hand on the stock.
Aiming down the sights.
Reloading. The fire selector is perpetually stuck on semi-auto.
Hitting the slide lock with the off-hand.
The Stechkin sits all alone on the machine pistols table, with no suppressed counterpart.
Stechkin APS - 9x18mm Makarov
Thankfully, the Stechkin doesn't need a suppressed variant to have a partner.
There's no shame in admitting you don't have a suppressed version.
Reloading the dual Stechkins. Note the lack of the wooden stock as compared to the individual version. Also note the hole in the slide's geometry visible in the ejection port.
Loading up the left-hand pistol.
Though it takes pride in not having a suppressed version, the Stechkin is thoroughly shameful about lacking its stock when dual-wielded.

Tokarev TT-33

The Tokarev TT-33 is available to all Việt Cộng classes except Sniper.

Type 64 silenced pistol

The Type 64 silenced pistol is available for the VC Sniper. Though rare, one Type 64 was confirmed to be used by the VC as a bringback by Mitchell WerBell III.

Type 64 Silenced - 7.65x17mm Type 64 ball
A Vietcong sniper holds the Type 64, probably the one that will end up in Mitchel WerBell III's hands.

Type 67 silenced pistol

The Type 67 silenced pistol is available only to the Việt Cộng Sniper class. Like the PB, it's unknown if any Type 67's ended up in Vietnam. In the "More Fun - More Gamemodes" update, the Type 67 was changed to be manually-operated to function as a VC counterpart to the Welrod below.

Type 67 Silenced - 7.65x17mm Type 64 ball
A Vietcong sniper holds the Type 67, wondering how he managed to get his hands on this exceedingly rare pistol.

Walther P38

The Walther P38 is available to all Việt Cộng classes except Sniper, representing the many ex-German arms sent to the North Vietnamese by the Warsaw Pact. Alternately, they could be pistols left over from the French. A small inaccuracy is that empty shells eject from the right versus the left as in reality.

Walther PPK

The Walther PPK is available only to the U.S. Army Sniper class. The weapon has an 8-round capacity, implying a .22 LR chambering, but is at odds with its in-game model which claims it is in .380 ACP.

Revolvers

Revolvers in-game have three "selector" modes that affect the gun's performance: double-action (the player has to hold down the mouse button to fire but can be manually canceled), single-action (the player can fire instantly after cocking the hammer), and fan-firing (the player cannot aim but the revolver can fire much faster).

AAI QSPR

The AAI QSPR is available to every U.S. Army class except Sniper. As such, it is the only suppressed handgun available outside of the Sniper class.

Submachine Guns / Machine Pistols

Available primarily to support classes (as well as the assault class which uses drum-fed variants), submachine guns are ideal for use in close quarters. With a fast fire rate but also poor accuracy, Submachine Guns are most effective in close quarters.

Beretta M12

The Beretta M12 is available to American medics, engineers, and radiomen. While not common, Beretta M12's did still make it to the war, with the most famous example being US Marines during the assault on the US Embassy in Saigon using them.
