Escape from Tarkov is a first-person shooter video game by BattleState Games. The game is currently in Closed Beta testing (since 2016).

The game is set in the fictional city of Tarkov of the Norvinsk region in Russia in the Russia 2028 universe (same as Contract Wars). Set somewhere between the years of 2015 and 2026, Escape from Tarkov follows two rival private military companies - the western-aligned United Security (USEC) and Russian-backed Battle Encounter Assault Regiment (BEAR) in their battle for control over the city of Tarkov following a major destabilizing event that had the entire region placed under military lockdown by both UN and Russian military, with the ultimate goal for each player being to successfully escape the city, following the eponymous title.

The following weapons are used in the video game Escape from Tarkov:


Overview

In Escape from Tarkov, players take control of operators from one of the two aforementioned PMC factions, choosing one to join when first starting the game - the faction joined influences initial skills and equipment. The primary FPS elements occur in the game's matches, where are a large number of players descend upon any of the game's maps of their choosing to loot weapons, gear, and goods from the map spawns as well as other players they kill - in order to leave the map, one must reach a designated "extract point" in order to keep what they have acquired. If the player dies during the match, anything they have picked up as well as all gear they bring into the match is automatically lost, though there are some exceptions.

A third non-aligned faction of desperate survivors called "Scavs" (short for "Scavengers") also appear as hostile AI that roam around the game's maps. Players also have the ability to join the match as a Scav, chosen before it begins, though it is only temporary. Player-controlled Scavs have randomized (generally low-end) weapons, gear, and stats on spawning in, and start out automatically friendly with AI Scavs (though the AI will turn hostile to any player Scav if they are witnessed attacking or killing other Scavs.) Upon a successful extract, player Scavs have any earned loot automatically transferred to their player character's inventory, making Scavs a relatively risk-free means of acquiring new gear.

Gunplay in EFT is very realistic, with simulation for bullet ballistics and weapon degrading and realistic body part-based damage model. There are also a host of fully animated actions the player can perform with their weapons, many of which are uncommonly found in video games, such as chamber loading and unloading, ejecting individual rounds, performing speed/tactical reloads, and inspecting the chamber. Stocks can be folded to preserve space in the player's inventory or reduce the weapon's size for better close quarter maneuverability, and ammo needs to be loaded individually to magazines, which then needs to be placed into the player's rig inventory spots to be used in reloading, which are tracked individually. Every closed bolt weapon can be chamber loaded and unloaded, with a few of the unique case open bolt weapons such as the PKM also having the ability to load single rounds.

The weapon building system is expansive, featuring an extensive roster of real world accessories and allowing for the modification of every major part of the gun, including essential parts such as the receiver. Some weapons have unique names depending on the configurations built, though some of the parts are very specific and sometimes do not correlate with the specific parts on their real world examples (such a some of the HK USP pistol variants). A humorous glitch (or feature?) exists where in several firearms, the chambered round can still be seen even with the barrel removed (it floats in the spot it would sit in the chamber).

One consistent goof in the game is that AK-type weapons with side scope mounts can still fold their stocks when they have scope mounts equipped, even though the scope mounts would block the left-folding stocks in reality (and vice versa; a folded stock would realistically block the left sided scope mount but the scope mount remains usable in-game). It is only possible with stocks with cutouts for said mounts, such as the AK-74M's stock or the stocks used by the AK-100 family. NPCs reload at much faster paces than players, with boss-type enemies having 75% faster reloads.

Handguns

Pistol slides are accurately depicted locking open on empty magazines, and settling forward without them. However, when holstering a pistol with its slide locked back, the slide will reset to forward when re-equipping it, despite the player character not interacting with the slide release or slide; it is unclear if this is due to engine limitations or a bug.

Colt M1911A1

The original Colt M1911A1 was added in patch 0.12.5.7184, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the victory in World War II. This is the first weapon using .45 ACP. The 1911 is sold at the 2nd level of loyalty at the Peacemaker. Pistol has a little bug: the rear sight is too high, due to which the bullets fly lower. Currently in the game there are two types of cartridges available: FMJ and RIP. The first is designed for armored targets, the second - better penetrates targets without armor. This is the only pistol on which you can change the trigger, hammer and catch lever. The Colt is also seen on "Pistolety i Revolvery" magazine in KIBA firearms store on Interchange map.

Colt M45A1

The Colt M45A1 was added in 0.12.8.9457 patch. Being a M1911 variant, M45A1 is also compatible with all of the attachments that are compatible with M1911A1, sharing its more advanced customization as the result.

Glock Series

Glock 17 Gen 3

Introduced in February 2018, the Glock 17 Generation 3 can be purchased from trader Sergey "Mechanic" Samoylov, who was added alongside the Glock. A variety of aftermarket slides and barrels are also available for the pistol, ranging from Salient Arms International barrels to compensated Zev Technologies slides. Regular 17-round, 21-round Magpul GL9 magazines, extended 33-rounds stick magazines, and a 50-rounds drum magazine can be used with the Glock 17.

It's inventory name is "Glock 17" and it's inspect name is "Glock 17 9x19 pistol".

Glock 18C Gen 3

The Glock 18C Generation 3 is added in Patch 0.9.0.1580. It does not share with barrels and slides with the Glock 17, but can accept its magazines and iron sights.

Heckler & Koch USP Series

The Heckler & Koch USP series in .45 ACP were added in the December 14, 2021 (0.12.12.0.16029) patch. Peacekeeper sells the base model and Tactical model while Mechanic sells the others. The various variants can also be made by fitting various USP components found in the game to the base pistol. When all appropriate parts are fitted, the weapon names will change from "USP" to the specific variant (though certain variations require extra attachments which the real ones don't come with by default). The USP rail system can be used on almost every variant. Currently there only exists one component each for the trigger, lower frame and hammer (unlike the multiple slides, sights and barrels). The trigger is fitted with a trigger stop.

The Heckler & Koch USP is sold by Peacekeeper at trader level 2 and is named "HK USP .45 ACP pistol" and "USP .45".

The Heckler & Koch USP Elite is sold by Mechanic at trader level 2 and is named "HK USP Elite .45 ACP pistol" and "USP .45 Elite". The weapon will lose its "USP .45 Elite" name if the Match Weight Compensator is removed (and revert to the standard "USP .45" moniker). Unlike the USP Match, the USP Elite lacks optional the bottom rail.

The Heckler & Koch USP Match is sold by Mechanic at trader level 3 after completing the quest "Fertalizers". It is named "HK USP Match .45 ACP pistol" and "USP .45 Match". It has the optional bottom rail fitted to the compensator, though the rail isn't removable.

Lebedev PL-15

The Lebedev PL-15 was added in 0.12.10.0.11565 patch and appears as "Lebedev PL-15 9x19 pistol". It is extremely ergonomic, but at the same time very expensive. A threaded barrel is available.

Magnum Research Desert Eagle Series

In the August 20, 2024 (0.15.0.0) patch, the Desert Eagle series pistols were added, all chambered in .50 Action Express. This includes the Desert Eagle Mark XIX, Desert Eagle L5, Desert Eagle L6, and the White Tiger Stripe L6. The L5 is also chambered in .357 Magnum.

Makarov Series

Due to a bug when unloading/loading single rounds, the Makarov's recoil spring will occasionally be visible in front of the slide instead of locked behind the slide.

Makarov PM

The Makarov PM appears as "Makarov PM 9x18PM pistol" / "PM" and is a cheapest and weakest pistol in game. PMCs will have a few available in their stash and the weapon is a fairly common loot in Military Cargo crates. Scavengers, both players and AI, may occasionally use a Makarov PM as their starting weapon. As of the August 10, 2023 patch (0.13.5.0.25725), its model was updated from the incorrect MP-371 to the real Makarov, and its side grip panels can now be replaced with aftermarket ones. In addition to the regular 8-round magazines, the Makarov PM also supports an 84-round drum magazine which is called "PM 9x18PM 84-round makeshift drum magazine" and can be crafted in the players hideout. The crafting recipe itself requires an 8-round magazine and a PPSh-41 drum magazine welded together. The drum magazine in reality was tested in 2013 for assault purposes, but obviously did not go beyond prototypes. Art of it is also seen on the official art of the trader Prapor.

"Makarov PM (t)"

A special variant called the "Makarov PM (t) 9x18PM pistol" / "PM (t)" can accept suppressors or muzzle devices due to its threaded barrel. The PM (t) did exist (visually being identical to the PM), though the (t) in-game probably stands for "threaded", as it resembles certain Bulgarian Makarov pistols with extended barrels with threading. Its description even alludes to this, stating: "A semi-mythical Makarov pistol with an extended threaded barrel for equipping a sound suppressor. Some claim it was a limited production series manufactured in Bulgaria, whilst others insist on it being East German, or even a handcrafted upgrade. As for how it ended up in the Norvinsk region, no living soul could tell you now."

Makarov PB

The suppressed Makarov PB is available in the game and appears as "PB 9x18PM silenced pistol" / "PB". It spawns rarely on Scavs and can be bought from Prapor. Originally the PB's side grips can be uninstalled while PM's cannot be removed, until the introduction of third-party side grips for the PM in patch 0.13.5.0.25725. Despite that, the new side grips for PM are not compatible with PB. The Makarov PB accepts standard 8-round PM magazine, along with a makeshift 84-round drum magazine.

MP-371

The Makarov was initially modeled off of a blank-firing MP-371 as indicated by the in-game model having a narrower anti-glare stripe and rear sight, compared to actual live-firing Makarovs. The trigger guard is also shaped closer to the MP-371, or similar to the PMM - the front end of the trigger guard is flatter compared to the "curlier" bend of the original Soviet design. The gun was reworked in v0.13.5.0.25725 patch with the addition of new customization options, with the Makarov's model being updated to a very faithful representation of the real pistol.

MP-443 Grach

The MP-443 Grach fills the role of a less common mid-tier pistol in the game. PMCs in the Russian BEAR faction will receive the pistol in their stash in the latest patch. Scavs can also spawn with the pistol alongside a few spare magazines, and on occasion a Scav may spawn with a customized Grach equipped with an under-barrel weaponlight. Currently, the weapon cannot be suppressed, but it can accept attachments via its underbarrel rail.

SIG-Sauer P226R

The SIG-Sauer P226R is primarily issued to the USEC faction, whose PMCs will get some in their stash. The weapon is also a possible spawn weapon for Scavengers, sometimes with its iron sights missing, and rarely with an underbarrel weaponlight equipped. Unlike the MP-443, it can be suppressed, and also use compact reflex sights via either aftermarket slide rails or scope mounts.

SR-1MP

The SR-1MP is Russian special forces pistol "kit" that includes the SR-1 pistol, a sound suppressor, and quad-rail accessory mount. All three components of the SR-1MP are available in the game, and can be combined together to form the whole set.

Stetchkin APS

The Stechkin APS and its silenced variant Stechkin APB were introduced in patch 0.8. While the base APS is an unpopular sidearm due of its high recoil and the poor ballistics of the 9x18 round, the silenced APB equipped with wire stock and loaded with special hollow-point SP7 ammunition is often used by experienced players as a budget primary weapon, which is surprisingly effective against unarmored targets. It is also seen on the official art of the Skier trader and Glukhar boss.

The standard APS is also a common sidearm amongst the Scav Raiders, strong AI-only Scavs with better tactics and equipment that patrol some of the maps.

Tokarev TT-33

The Tokarev TT-33 is a dated, but viable pistol available in the game. It is infrequently carried by AI Scavs in-game, and is a rare spawn for Player Scavs. The TT-33 is one of the few in-game weapons to utilise the 7.62x25mm round, of which 7 types are available. Additionally, the TT-33 can be outfitted with a "home-spun" threaded barrel and a home-made suppressor, making it one of the earliest and most cost effective suppressed pistols currently in the game. Various aftermarket modifications such as muzzle brakes and LAMs were added later.

A gold-plated TT-33 with custom wooden grips is the backup weapon of Scav Boss "Dealmaker" ("Reshala", which in Russian slang also means "executor"). Aside from its appearance, it's identical to a regular TT and is considered more like a trophy than a weapon, and even then it's still valued less than Reshala's primary weapon, a modified AK-102.

What appears to be a TT-33 is seen in the Wartech MK3 chest rig (TV-104), and a TT-33 with wooden grips is seen in the Wartech gear rig (TV-109, TV-106).

FN P90

The FN P90 was added in patch 0.12.0.4785. 3 versions are available in-game - the original variant with its integrated reflex sight, the rail-equipped P90 Tactical (not the P90TR, as the rail replaces the top sight rather than being part of the upper reciever), and a variant fitted with an aftermarket EFFEN 90 flat top upper receiver. It can also accept a unique proprietary suppressor. The P90 can also be fitted with the 16" extended barrel of the FN PS90 civilian carbine variant, as well as its green body. The magazine with 50 round capacity has a text in Russian written on the side which state "потом будет прозрачный" which is translated to "Will be transparent later".

A customized P90 Tactical. With the exception of the sight (a PK-06, that was replaced later with the EOTech sight of the original version), this version is identical to infamous "P90 DEVGRU" variant from Contract Wars (which is set in the same universe as EFT). This is likely an in-community joke, because this build currently can be bartered from the Mechanic for five GP coins (a barter item identical in appearance to Contract Wars' microtransaction-based currency).

Chamber-checking the P90 is a rather unusual process, involving a quick partial ejection of a magazine, followed by a short pull of the charging handle to get a look into the chamber. A nice detail, though it isn't fully visible here.

Heckler & Koch MP5A4

The Heckler & Koch MP5A4 is available in the game. The MP5 is not used by normal Scavs, but is often wielded by Raiders, and can acquired by PMCs via the trader "Peacekeeper". The version in game features a Navy 3-round trigger group, meaning it must be an A4 or A5, but because there is no "default" stock assigned to it, it cannot definitely be called one or the other, and should be identified as either an MP5A4 or A5 on a case-by-case basis exclusively. As such, the full in game name is the "HK MP5 9x19 submachine gun (Navy 3-round burst)", a rather long-winded way of saying "either an A4 or an A5, but that's up to you, not us".

Peacekeeper sells two fixed stock variants, the unsuppressed MP5A4 (at loyalty level 1) and the suppressed MP5SD5 (at loyalty level 2, and after the player completes a quest for Peacekeeper). Players can customize the MP5 extensively, such as replacing the fixed stock for a collapsible one, or replace its forend with a railed one to mount under-barrel attachments. A 50 round drum magazine and 20 round magazine are also available.

Heckler & Koch MP7A1

The Heckler & Koch MP7 is added in the v0.10.5.2124 patch. Two variants are available: MP7A1 and MP7A2. Both variants have an array of magazines to choose from, with 20, 30 and 40 round magazines. Only the MP7A2 can mount foregrips, and the MP7A1 cannot. The weapon has a telescoping stock, as in real life.

PP-19-01 Vityaz

The PP-19-01 Vityaz is a 9x19mm submachine gun available in the game. PMCs can purchase it from trader Prapor at loyalty level 1, and BEAR PMCs receive the weapon with the "Prepare to Escape" and "Escape from Darkness" editions. The weapon is currently the cheapest of the SMGs, and one of the first that the player can modify extensively. The SMG initially had a vicious recoil; this has been reduced in subsequent patches.

Saiga 9

The Saiga 9, a semi-automatic carbine variant with a 16 inch barrel, was added to the game. It is used by Scavs, equipped with 10 round magazines that are interchangeable with regular 30 round Vityaz magazines. It can still utilize many of the attachments that can be mounted onto the Vityaz.

Kedr Series

PP-91 Kedr

There are two variants of the PP-91 Kedr in-game, the standard "Kedr" and the "Kedr-B". The "B" variant features a threaded barrel to accept sound suppressors and other muzzle devices. Currently the "Kedr" is infrequently used by AI Scavs, and can be bought from the trader Prapor. The "Kedr-B" can be bartered from Prapor with various items.

The "Kedr" as of the current patch has been nerfed considerably from previous patches, dealing almost no damage against armor even with AP ammunition. Additionally, it cannot fire 9x18mm PMM increased-power rounds, and is restricted to using the older 9x18mm PBM as its AP ammunition (which still has trouble penetrating low tier armor). The weapon can be outfitted with barrel-mounted accessory rails for sights and weaponlights, and utilizes 20-round or 30-round stick magazines, of which the latter can only be purchased with bartering items.

PP-9 Klin

The PP-9 Klin is another special variant of the Kedr that is available for purchase from Prapor via barter. It does not spawn on AI Scavengers, as of the current patch. It has slightly different recoil patterns from the Kedr and has a slightly higher 1000 RPM fire rate. It can utilize the same attachments and magazines as the Kedr, but can also use high-pressure PMM ammunition in addition to the PBM, unlike the Kedr.

PPSh-41

The PPSh-41 was added in patch 0.12.5.7184, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the victory in World War II. In addition to the 35-round magazine, 71-round drum magazine are available in the game. PPSh-41 can be bought at the second level of loyalty from Prapor or found at some Scavs. This is the fastest firing SMG at the moment.

SIG-Sauer MPX Gen 1

The SIG-Sauer MPX Generation 1 is available for use and commonly seen in the hands of Scav raiders. It can bought from the trader Peacekeeper. While it is the Gen 1 version, it is equipped with the collapsible stock of an earlier MPX prototype by default, and can equip a stock adaptor for other stock options.

It is the most versatile of the SMGs and features two variants like the MP5, a standard variant and another variant with an Integral suppressor. It can equip more attachments than the MP5, some of which are interchangeable with the AR-15 rifles. 0.11.5 patch introduced more unique weapon parts, including new barrels, hanguards, magazines and stocks.

Soyuz-TM STM-9

A STM-9, russian AR-9 by "Soyuz-TM", chambered in 9x19 was added in 0.12.10.0.11565 patch. It is a very ergonomic and reliable weapon, albeit balanced by the lack of a full-auto fire mode. The rifle uses Glock 17 magazines and also has a removable magwel for the first time in the game.

Baikal MP-43

The Baikal MP-43 was added in 0.12.12.0.16029 patch. Previously, the weapon was briefly introduced in an early alpha version in 2015 but was cut and returned only in December 2021. A sawn-off version of it is also available, added in the v0.13.5.0.25725 patch. Rather than being a specific configuration of the standard version as one might expect (i.e. swapping out the full-length barrels and stock on a standard MP-43 for their cut-down counterparts), it is treated as a completely separate weapon in-game; this is apparently due to limitations in the game's current systems, as the chopped-down Baikal is counted as a secondary weapon, and attachments currently cannot change what slot a weapon fits into.

Baikal MP-133

The Baikal MP-133 is a pump-action shotgun commonly used by Scavengers as a primary weapon, and is frequently used by traders as a bartering item. It comes with a factory installed 6 round magazine tube and a 510mm barrel. Different barrel lengths and magazine tubes can be purchased from trader Skier at various reputation levels, and many attachments are interchangeable between the MP-133 and the MP-153 below. A somewhat infamous weapon attachment setup allows the shotgun to mount up to 5 weaponlights at once, and is dubbed the "Pentalight" by players.

KS-23

The KS-23 was added in 0.12.8.9457 patch. It is named KS-23M by default, regardless if it has KS-23M parts. The shotgun uses special 23x75mm R cartridges. At the moment there are 4 types of cartridges available in the game: Shrapnel 10 (for distances up to 10 meters), Shrapnel 25 (for distances up to 25 meters), "Barricade" (powerful armor-piercing cartridge) and "Star" (Flash-bang round). The player can also mount the short barrel, pistol grip and wire stock of the actual KS-23M.

Mossberg 590A1

The Mossberg 590A1 was was added in v0.12.7 patch. Available attachments include a Magpul furniture, telescoping stock adapter and Black Aces Tactical RB7M rail. Weapon can be purchased at Jaeger LL1. Also Scavs are rarely armed with a Mossberg. Compared to other pump-action shotguns (MP-133, Remington 870), Mossberg has a higher cost, but a more convenient sight and a bigger magazine.

Another addition of the 0.8 update, the Remington 870 is a Western-supplied equivalent to the MP-133 shotgun. Its main difference over the latter shotgun is the ability to equip a short barrel, which makes it handy as a backup weapon, that can be stored in a chest rig's pouch.

Saiga 12K

The Saiga 12K is a semi-automatic, magazine-fed, 12 gauge shotgun. It is occasionally carried by Scavengers as a primary weapon, often with the dust cover missing. Unlike most shotguns, it features a folding stock, allowing its carry size to be reduced. It is the most effective shotgun when utilizing slugs, having the best accuracy and recoil control among the shotguns, and it also has many customization options. Both five and ten round magazines are available in game.

TOZ-106

A fairly atypical shotgun design, the TOZ-106 is a bolt action, 20 gauge, compact survival shotgun with an underfolding stock designed for civilian use.

It is another common Scav weapon, with players often nicknaming it the "Blunderbuss" for its loud signature report when fired at range. It feeds from a detachable 2 or 4 round magazine. Players can also replace the metal folding stock and pistol grip with that of a TOZ MTs 20-01 fixed wooden stock which improves recoil control and ergonomics at the cost of a larger inventory size.

5.56 AR Platform

M4A1

The M4A1 is a ubiquitous weapon in EFT. It is the most customizable weapon in the game, with a multitude of options for rails, grips, stocks, magazines, real handguards from companies such as Knight's Armament Company, Daniel Defense, and War Sport, and even charging handle options, including the Badger Ordnance Tactical Latch or the Raptor charging handle. At one point in development, the M4A1 was the only 5.56mm weapon available; this is no longer the case as more 5.56mm weapons are added.

Originally, the M4A1's default configuration included several aftermarket parts (namely a KAC railed handguard, a Windham Weaponry railed low-profile gas block, and a set of Colt A2 iron sights); patch 0.8.3 added the "classic" M4A1 parts - the standard round M4 handguard, a detachable carrying handle, and a standard gas block/front sight. From then on the "standard" M4A1 became the rifle's default configuration, with the previous build being renamed the "M4A1 SOPMOD I".

Other customization options include the Mk 18 Mod 0 10.5-inch barrel. The Mk 18 is often used by Scav Raiders, equipped with 60-round Surefire quad-stack magazines, a Magpul CTR stock, a KAC railed handguard, a Tango stubby grip, a flashlight, and a Walther MRS reflex sight, installed on quick-detachable Picatinny raiser.

The M4A1 is also seen on the official art of the Mechanic and Peacekeeper traders, and is also used by a USEC operator in a piece of key art.

The lack of a gas block would render the gun unable to cycle, making it essentially a straight-pull bolt action; this is accurately reflected in-game, with the customization menu prohibiting the player from equipping a "non-ready to fire" weapon. "LVOA"

The "LVOA" variant, sold by dealer Mechanic. Aside from the War Sport LVOA-S handguard, this build also includes the Vltor MUR-1S upper receiver and the Vltor EMOD stock.

ADAR 2-15

The ADAR 2-15, a Russian AR-15 with SVD-patterned wood furniture, is added in patch v0.11.0.2448. As an AR family weapon, it has a large amount of available modifications, allowing for all sorts of AR-15 configurations to be made. Its semi-auto lower receiver can be swapped with the full-auto lower of a mil-spec M4A1.

Regulary carried by both AI and player Scavs, often only with basic iron sights and magazines ranging from 10, 20 and 30 rounds. AI Scavs will sometimes sport a VOMZ Pilad P1x42 Reflex sight, often still with the bulky Colt A2 Rear sight, often completely blocking the sight picture. The weapon is also carried by the minions of the Custom's boss, Dealmaker (otherwise known as Reshala). This variant used by his minions is oddly designed, keeping its wooden handguard but replacing its SVD style stock with a green Stark AR Rifle grip, a FAB Defense GL Shock Stock, a Mk.12 low profile gas block, a Monstrum Compact 2x32 optical sight and either a Thunder Beast 223CB Muzzle Brake or Thunder Beast Ultra 5 Sound suppressor.

AS Val

The AS Val is a late-game weapon available for barter from trader Prapor. While the effective range and muzzle velocity of the 9x39mm round is fairly low, it boasts one of the highest DPS in the game with its very high armor penetration. In addition, it has the fastest assault rifle rate of fire at 900 RPM, something only shared by the Kedr and Klin SMGs.

VSS Vintorez

The VSS Vintorez can be bartered from Prapor at loyalty level 2, but becomes more accessible at loyalty level 3. It comes pre-fitted with 10 round VSS magazines and is compatible with AS Val and SR3M magazines. It uses a Dovetail mount and is compatible with most eastern scopes such as the PSO-1. The PSO-1M2-2 scope is tailored specifically for use with the VSS and the SVD.

Despite its rarity in reality, Player Scavs will spawn with the weapon regularly, often outfitted without a dust cover, a BPZ USP-1 4x Scope and 10 round magazines holding 9x39mm SP-5 ammunition. The Shoreline Boss, "Sanitar" regulary uses a VSS with a SVD Low Profile sidemount, a Valday PS-320 1x/6x Optical Scope and either 20 or 30 round magazines, normally loaded with an assortment of ammunition from SP-5 to the mighty BP. The Minions of the Woods Boss "Shturman" also occasionally carry VSS rifles with the NPZ USP-1 4x Scope.

AK-74

The AK-74, specifically the AK-74N variant with an attached night scope rail is available from Prapor at level 2, and can be purchased with or without ammunition via various trade options usually with black polymer furniture. The weapon features plenty of customization options from manufacturers like Zenitco, CAA, Magpul, and TAPCO. A few AK-74 with plum furniture are also seen on the official art of the Prapor trader.

The AKS-74 (AKS-74N variant) and a proper AK-74M were added in the 0.8 patch. The v0.11.0.2448 patch added an original AK-74 and AKS-74 variant without the "N" prefix as a cheaper alternative.

An AK-74, specifically the model from Contract Wars featuring jungle-taped magazines, is used as the default icon for an empty long gun inventory slot.

AKS-74

Both AKS-74 and AKS-74N are presented alongside with other AK family. The former variant is sometimes carried by regular Scavs, while modified AKS-74Ns are often wielded by AI-controlled elite Reshala's bodyguards, fitted with railed TRAX 1 handguards, PK-06 sights and PWS 5.45 muzzle brakes.

AKS-74N

In the August 20, 2024 (0.15.0.0) patch, the boss Partisan will spawn with the weapon with a GP-25 and unique Esmarch customized folding stock.

AK-74M

The AK-74M is the most popular AK-74 variant among both Scavs and players, making it the most popular weapon in the game period. While popular, it cannot mount some of the aftermarket stocks designed specifically for fixed stock AKs, such as the Magpul Zhukov.

AKS-74U

The AKS-74U is one of the earliest and cheaper weapons that can purchased from the trader "Prapor" at the lowest level of reputation. They are somewhat uncommonly used by both AI and player Scavs. Those that are carried by Scavs tend to lack an array of even standard factory parts. It can be outfitted with a variety of custom furniture pieces, mostly ones from Zenitco.

An in-game banner shows a Scav raider equipped with an AKS-74U customized with a 45-round 6L26 magazine, a Hexagon 5.45x39 sound suppressor, and an Armytek Predator Pro v3 XHP35 HI Flashlight on a B-11 handguard.

There are 2 variants, the AKS-74UN, which has a side rail for optics and optic mounts, and the AKS-74UB, which features a PBS-4 suppressor and an RPK-style rear sight without the leaf sight itself (as well as a side rail for optics, making it technically an AKS-74UBN).

AK-100 Series

With exception to the counter-balanced AK-107/108 rifles, the AK-100 family of rifles was brought into Escape From Tarkov with the 0.8 patch. The AK-101 and its shorter AK-102 variant are the first, and so far only 5.56mm AK variants on offer. The AK-103 and AK-104 are more advanced alternatives to their older, classic AKM brothers. They offer side-folding stocks and the side-rail for attaching Russian non-railed optics and scope mounts. The AK-105 is an intermediary between the AKS-74U and AK-74, offering reduced barrel length without having the increased recoil of the AKS-74U.

AK-101

The AK-101 along with other AK-100 series were added in patch v0.8.0.1208. The rifle can be bought from trader Mechanic. Unlike the AK-74M, the AK-101 has a caliber of 5.56x45 NATO, which means that mags and muzzle devices from the AK-74M are incompatible with the AK-101, while the rest of their weapon mods are interchangeable.

In addition to the standard magazine, the AK-101 can use the Arsenal CWP magazine. Muzzle devices available to the AK-101 include the SRVV 5.45 muzzle brake (as on the AK-74), Rotor 43 5.56 muzzle brake, PWS CQB 5.56 muzzle brake (like other 5.56mm weapons), Silencerco Hybrid 46 silencer (through its multi-caliber adapter which is available for almost all weapons), AR-15 type muzzle devices through the CNC Warrior 5.56mm AK muzzle adapter (added in patch 0.12.4.6254), and standard muzzle brakes from AK-101 and AK-102.

The AK-101 with Magpul MOE handguard and M-LOK AFG Tactical grip, Zenit PT-3 "Klassika" stock, and Belomo PK-06 reflex sight is the main weapon of the Dealmaker (Reshala) boss. Along with this it uses M856A1 rounds.

AK-105

The AK-105 is an available variant of the AK-100 series. The Sniper scav Woods boss Shturman ("Navigator" in Russian) uses one as a backup weapon, which is equipped with an EOtech XPS3-2 holographic sight and a 2P Klesch flashlight/laser combo.

AKM Series

AKM

Several flavors of the AKM are available in the game, the first and foremost being the original AKM with a fixed wood stock. The standard AKM has a stamped receiver with no provision for mounting sights, but the AKMN variant has a scope mount bracket on the left side of the receiver. Both the AKM's wood pistol grip and AKM's bakelite pistol grip are available (alongside the usual compatable AK-type grips).

It is also seen on the official art of the Prapor and Therapist traders, and a BEAR operator is armed with a suppressed AKM in a key art.

AKMS

The AKMS appears and can have its underfolding stock folded to take up less inventory space. As with the regular AKM, there is a "AKMSN" variant with the side rail for mounting optics or a sight rail. It is also seen on the official art of the Prapor trader.

VPO-136 "Vepr-KM"

A civilian variant of the AKM, the VEPR-KM / VPO-136 semi-automatic only carbine also appears in EFT. It lacks the slanted AKM muzzle brake and is semi-automatic only, and is a bit cheaper in-game. It is used by Scavs, and fires the same 7.62x39mm ammunition as its select fire counterparts.

VPO-209

The final variant of the AKM in Escape from Tarkov is the VPO-209 semi-automatic rifle. Another civilian variant of the AKM, the VPO-209 has a smoothbore barrel (with "paradox rifling" on the last 120mm), letting it be categorized under the less-restricted firearm category of shotguns rather than semi-automatic rifles, making it easier to acquire for Russian civilians (until 2021, when paradox barrels were deemed equal to regular rifled barrels thus nullifying any legal advantage). Firing the .366 TKM cartridge, the VPO-209 in-game boasts incredible power but atrocious recoil.

In past patches the VPO-209 possessed terrible penetration, barely able to pierce Class 2 body armor, but with recent patches the the rounds were buffed, improving their overall penetration of Class 2 and 3 soft-body armor. In addition, a fictitious home-made AP round was introduced that can reliably penetrate Class 4 and 5 body armor and can be crafted inside the hideout at workbench level 2.

VPO-209 - .366 TKM. This is a smoothbore semi-automatic civilian version of the AKM (with "paradox rifling" on the last 120mm of the barrel) sold in Russia under the shotgun license.

Variant of the VPO-209 in the customization menu. Such stripped down "two-o'-nines" are noticeably common amongst Scavs. Unfortunately for players, while the AI's accuracy is barely impacted by the lack of a stock, the lack of a stock makes the weapon near-unusable for human players.

CMMG Mk47 Banshee

The CMMG Mk47 Banshee was added in 0.12.11.0.13074 patch, and is incorrectly referred to as the Mk47 Mutant variant. It can be modified with the longer barrel and handguard of a CMMG Mk47 Resolute.

Desert Tech Micro Dynamic Rifle

The 5.56 version of Desert Tech Micro Dynamic Rifle is added in patch 0.11.7. This is the first bullpup weapon featured in the game.

Desert Tech Micro Dynamic Rifle .308

The 7.62x51mm version of the Desert Tech Micro Dynamic Rifle .308 was added in v0.12.2.5479 patch, and can be differentiated from the 5.56 variant by its black color.

DSA SA58 OSW

The DSA SA58 OSW chambered in 7.62x51mm is added in Patch 0.9.0.1580. It features an extensive amount of customization options, including some original FAL parts.

Player Scavs will spawn with the weapon in one of two configurations, named SA-58 AUS (Austrian) or SA-58 BEL (Belgium). Both versions feature a 21" barrel, holland-type peep-hole rear sight and a regular pistol grip and dust cover. The Austrian variant possesses an "Austrian" style muzzle brake and FN produced foregrip with a DSA produced polymer "humpback" fixed stock and 20 round magazine while the Belgium variant features a folding stock and 30 round magazine. Scav Raiders sometimes use a heavily modified short-barreled variant, with an 11" barrel, X-Product X-FAL 50 round magazine, Magpul RVG foregrip and a DSA BRS Stock.

Both the FN SCAR-L and FN SCAR-H were added in the December 14, 2021 (0.12.12.0.16029) patch with both in BLK (Black) and FDE (Flat Desert Earth) furniture. They are modeled after the 3rd Generation SCAR and come with CQC, STD and LB barrel options, which are available for both rifles. The original model Kinetic Development Group MREX 6.5 handguard as well as the Primary Weapons Systems SRX handguard extension are both available for both types of SCAR.

The Heckler & Koch HK416F (outfitted with parts from the HK416A5) was added in patch v0.11.0.2448 as the "Heckler & Koch HK416 A5". In terms of performance, it behaves as a superior version of M4A1, with decreased base recoil and increased rate of fire up to 850 RPM. Its default 14.5 inch barrel can be replaced with a short 11 inch barrel and the HK Quad Rail handguard. Currently, the HK416 is one of the most expensive weapons to buy from a trader, being sold by the Peacekeeper at high level of reputation. The weapon is also sometimes is used by NPC Scav Raiders in short barrel configuration.

Kel-Tec RFB Carbine

The Kel-Tec RFB Carbine was added in 0.12.8.9457 patch. It functions as an improvement and medium over the budget VPO-101 "Hunter" having slightly greater customization by installing foregrips and sights on rails, better and higher capacity magazine options as it uses the SA-58 FAL Magazines and generally being more ergonomic but is statistically inferior to the Springfield Armory M1A by having terrible recoil control and less modular options, as the weapon cannot mount tactical devices without sacrificing the scope mount or foregrip mount. It is correctly depicted as being semi-automatic.

Scav Raiders will sometimes carry the weapon, outfitted with just a Vortex Razor AMG UH-1 Holographic sight.

Remington R11 RSASS

The Remington RSASS is also available in-game as a late-game very expensive but highly capable and modular 7.62x51mm rifle. Some players have come up with an ultra-compact configuration of the weapon known as the "Mini-SASS" by fitting telescoping stocks and short barrels to the RSASS, which makes its inventory size identical to some of the larger SMGs.

ShAK-12

The ShAK-12 was added in patch 0.12.0.4785 patch. The weapon is referred to in-game as the "ASh-12", the earlier designation more commonly applied to the pre-production variant; in its finalized form, the rifle is most commonly referred to as the "ShAK-12". This is the Reserve boss "Glukhar's" signature weapon show in key art, although he doesn't always use it in-game, sometimes using a heavily modified Springfield Armory M1A with an EBR stock and various sights and tactical devices. He typically uses it with 20-round mags with a PP-19 Vityaz as a backup.

It's a relatively niche firearm in-game, sporting massive firepower with its 12.7x55mm Sts-130 rounds but only sub-par penetration, the PS12B Armor Piercing rounds having difficulty penetrating Class 6 body armor but dealing over 100 points of damage per shot able to down any target in a single hit to the chest. The weapon unfortunately has extremely high recoil without sufficient skill to manage it and a slow rate of fire of 650 RPM. While its rounds aren't great at penetration, the sheer damage the rounds inflict often result in many targets dying from blunt force trauma or having their armor entirely destroyed after a few shots. At the moment, there are two available mags, 10 and 20 rounds, as well as its own unique silencer and muzzle brake. The weapon sports a removeable Picatinny carry handle on top of a flat top rail and one rail on the handguard for mounting grips and two side rails for tactical combo devices. Strangely, the carry handle cannot be fitted on other weapons and the ShAK-12 cannot accept the carry handle of the M4.

The SIG-Sauer MCX in .300 Blackout was added in 0.12.9 patch and appears as "SIG MCX .300 Blackout assault rifle". The MCX is a high tier weapon as both it and its ammunition is quite expensive for players. It possesses an extremely high damage potential but its rounds are inherently the super-sonic versions instead of the sub-sonic ammunition normally seen in other games. Currently only FMJ and AP rounds are available for the weapon which correctly can be used in regular AR-15 5.56x45mm style magazines without modification. An interesting note, regular 5.56x45mm firearms can accept magazines of .300 Blackout but they will not-fire and become inoperable until the correct ammunition is loaded as it will not allow you to fire the weapon with incorrect ammunition loaded.

Scav Raiders will sometimes carry a suppressed variant, outfitted with a MCX Folding Stock and EOTech XPS3-2 Holographic Sight.

By default the rifle is configured as the SIG-Sauer MCX SBR, but the SIG-Sauer MCX Patrol can be built. Several different SIG stocks can be fitted as well. A version called "Neptune Spear" is available from traders.

SKS

The SKS is available in Escape from Tarkov in two variants, the standard model and the OP-SKS, a civilian hunting version with a prefitted dovetail optic mount attached. The standard model is occasionally found on Scavs and can only mount optics at later reputation levels when the required mounts are unlocked. The OP-SKS model is only used by Scav Snipers and is often found with a PSO-1 scope fitted. The SKS sometimes is seen modified with a TapCo Intrafuse or FAB Defense UAS Stock, giving the weapon a significantly more modern look as well as better ergonomics and modification potential.

Prior to patch 0.11.7 all SKS types in the game sported Promag/Tapco 20 round detachable magazines - the 10 round internal magazine and 35 round Promag options were introduced later, as well as ability to reload a SKS with any magazine by individual rounds. However, stripper clips are still not present.

Like the Mosin, opening the action while starting a reload will eject the chambered round from the SKS. When reloading the SKS with an aftermarket detachable magazine, the operator will open the action before removing and replacing the magazine; this is accurate to real life, as aftermarket magazines cannot be attached to or removed from an SKS with an unmodified bolt when its action is closed, as the bolt's lips would either block or lock the magazine's feed lips.

Springfield Armory M1A SOCOM 16

Introduced in the 0.8 patch, the Springfield Armory M1A SOCOM 16 is a middle-of-the-road alternative to the budget Vepr-Hunter and high-cost RSASS, offering proper 7.62x51mm battle rifle characteristics in a handy package.

The Reserve Scav Boss, named "Gluhkar" will sometimes carry an extensively modified M1A, outfitted with a Sage EBR chassis and using a EOTech Vudu 1x-6x scope with a 22" inch barrel, either a Gemtech ONE sound suppressor or a Fortis Red muzzle brake, among a variety of tactical devices.

It is appropriately semi-automatic only. Available stock/chassis options include Archangel, Sage EBR, and Troy S.A.S.S.

SR-25

The Knight's Armament SR-25 was added in the v0.12.2.5479 patch. The SR-25 was introduced as another mid-tier upgrade alongside the Springfield M1A, being superior to the Budget focused VPO-101 "Hunter" and Kel-Tec RFB while being cheaper and more readily accessible than the Remington RSASS. It's compatible with most AR-15 modifications and accessories, giving it great flexibility.

The SR-25 is seen carried by the Minions of the Woods Boss, "Shturman" often in its factory standard configuration with folding ironsights and a 20 round magazine. Scav Raiders will sometimes carry a more marksman styled rifle instead, outfitted with 10 round magazines, an MFT BUS Stock, an Elcan SpectreDR4 1x/4x Optical Sight and either a 2A Armament X3 7.62x51mm Compensator or a KAC PRS QDC Sound Suppressor.

SVDS

The SVDS, a modern version of Dragunov SVD with side-folding stock and shortened barrel, was added in patch 11.7. This is the first semi-automatic weapon, chambered with 7.62x54 R, featured in the game. Customization options includes 20 round magazines from SVU-A, pistol grips and rear sights compatible with AK series, as well as any optic or mount that can be attached on Warsaw Pact dovetail mount.

Woods sniper scav boss Shturman ("Navigator" in Russian) added on Oct 27 2019, uses a customized SVDS as his primary weapon, which is fitted with a 20-round mag and Zenit-Belomo PSO 1M2-1 4x24 scope. Lighthouse sniper cultist boss Zryachiy ("The one who sees") occasionally will spawn with a heavily customized SVDS fitted with a Sureshot Armament Group SVD Chassis MK1 (plus various accessories).

VPO-101 "Vepr Hunter"

The VPO-101 "Vepr Hunter", a Russian RPK derivative semi-automatic hunting rifle chambered in .308 Winchester, was introduced in 0.11.7 patch. A powerful yet cheap weapon, the VPO-101 can be purchased early on in the game, and is often used by Scavs. It comes by default with 5-round box magazine, though 10-round magazines become available later. Its side-mounted dovetail rail allows the rifle to be fitted with Eastern optics, or Western ones with a Weaver mount adaptor. An SVD-style thumbhole stock was added significantly improving ergonomics and reducing recoil, available through the trader, Jaeger.

In the August 20, 2024 (0.15.0.0) patch, the M60 series machine guns were added.

M60E6

The Royal Danish Army variant of the M60, the M60E6, appears as "U.S. Ordnance M60E6 7.62x51 light machine gun" / "M60E6". The FDE version of the M60E6 is by default built in the same configuration used by the Royal Danish Army; the RIS handguard of the MK43 Mod 1 in FDE the ELCAN SpecterDR scope, also in FDE and several other components in FDE.

PK Machine Gun Series

PKM

The PKM was added in v0.13.5.0.25725 patch and appears as "Kalashnikov PKM 7.62x54R machine gun". It is one of the 3 possible primary weapons (the others being the PKP and the RPK-16) of the incredibly difficult Scav boss Kaban in the Streets of Tarkov map. As of now, (other than looting it from another player,) killing him is the only way to get your hands on the PKM. Both the classic and the updated flash hiders are available for the PKM. The receiver is identical to the in-game PKP's, with the only difference being the lack of dovetail mount, and as such, it is theoretically possible to create a the original PKP Pecheneg by using the receiver of the PKM.

The PKM can be loaded by individual rounds or by the non-disintegrating belt, with the belt correctly being depicted as separating after every 25 rounds. When Unloading a single round from the MG, the bolt is still in the locked position, however when loading a new round or belt, the bolt is incorrectly forward; this could only happen if the player character used the trigger to drop the bolt. Sometimes the spent belt on the left side of the PKM will disappear when inspecting or swapping the weapon.

As with many other weapons in the game, there exists animations for loading and unloading individual rounds. Here a PMC is seen removing a bullet from the receiver base: The PMC flips the feed tray up, pulls the bullet out from underneath, then knocks it back down into the receiver. When loading individual rounds the PMC simply drops the bullet into the top of the receiver base (which is essentially chamber loading the PKM).

PKP Pecheneg-N

The PKP Pecheneg-N was added in v0.13.5.0.25725 patch and appears as "Kalashnikov PKP 7.62x54R infantry machine gun". As with the aforementioned PKM, killing the Scav boss Kaban is the only way for you to get your hands on this machine gun. The receiver is identical to the in-game PKM's, with the only difference being the dovetail mount, and as such, it is theoretically possible to create a PKMN with the receiver of the PKP.

It shares pretty much all animations with the PKM, with the addition of an extra animation to detach the scope mount to open the top cover, though for some reason the dovetail latch is unlocked even when no optic is mounted. The latch isn't attached to the top cover so it doesn't hinder opening it, it is only nessisary to unlatch it when an optic is mounted because the optic sits overtop of the top cover. The bipod is incorrectly depicted as mounted the same as the PKM's, including being detachable. In reality it is mounted under the front sight block and is fixed to the barrel.

RPD

The RPD was added in v0.14.0.0.28333 patch. It is one of the possible weapons the Streets of Tarkov scav boss Kollontay is armed with.

RPDN

The RPDN was added in v0.14.0.0.28333 patch. Very few genuine physical examples exist of this weapon in reality so it would be very unlikely to encounter one.

RPK-16

The RPK-16 was added in the December 25 2018 (v0.11.0.2448) patch. It was the first light machine gun added to the game, and is considered a higher-tier weapon. Most of its parts (including the new 95-round drum magazine) are compatible with other 5.45x39mm AK variants, and its only unique modification is a 580mm long barrel, which greatly boosts its accuracy and decreases its already-manageable recoil. The dust cover have written on the inside of the part "Че тут ищешь?" which loosely translates to "What are you looking for here?".

The RPK-16 is used by several bosses in the game, the most notable of which being Killa, a dangerous Scav boss located on the Interchange map; his light machine gun is decked out with a 95-round drum mag and a Valday 1P87 holographic sight.

Lobaev DVL-10 M1

The Lobaev DVL-10 comes in two variants in the game, the standard version known as the "Urbana", and an integrally suppressed version known as the "Saboteur". It is an exceedingly rare sniper rifle, and becomes available from Skier at late reputation levels. It uses 7.62x51mm ammunition. Like the SV-98, most players use 3-4x magnification scopes instead of high-power scopes.

Mosin-Nagant Series

The Mosin-Nagant M91/30 sniper rifle was added to the game in patch 0.10 and appears as "Mosin 7.62x54R bolt-action rifle (Sniper)" or "Mosin (Sniper)". Reloading the weapon is done with individual rounds. When the weapon is reloaded with a chambered round, said round will be ejected and can be recovered by picking it up. While the rifle has a maximum capacity of 5+1 rounds, it can only be reloaded up to 4+1 in the field.

The Sniper variants can be equipped with the Kochetov mount for the PU 3.5x sniper scope (or Picatinny rails for more modern attachments), and the barrel can accept the Bramit suppressor (which is more commonly associated with suppressed Nagant M1895 revolvers). Alternate stocks for the Mosin include the ATI Outdoors Monte Carlo stock and Desert Tan ProMag Archangel OPFOR stock. The rifle can also be fitted with a Tacfire pistol grip.

The standard 91/30 infantry variant with straight bolt was added in the 0.11 update (as "Mosin 7.62x54R bolt-action rifle (Infantry)" or "Mosin (Infantry)" alongside M38 Carbine variants and "Obrez" variants. The Trader "Mechanic" will trade a modified Obrez rifle that has a Picatinny rail attached to the rear sight with a threaded 220mm barrel to accept suppressors. Humorously, the Obrez can also be fitted with both the carbine and standard Mosin barrels.

All variants, including the rarer sniper and modified Obrez variants are often carried and used by both AI and Player Scavs. It is not to uncommon to find Scavs using Mosin Rifles without a front, rear or no sights at all.

Obrez Mosins in the modification screen. The upper rifle is a sawed sniper Mosin, fitted with an optic worth more than several Obrez rifles (alongside a TacFire Mosin Pistol Grip). The bottom rifle is a sawed infantry Mosin (which is fitted with a threaded version of the sawed barrel).

As it has the sniper variant's receiver, this Obrez can use the original PU scope, though it requires the rail interface to be detached. The front sight likely comes from the Gletcher M1891 Obrez pneumatic air gun.

ORSIS T-5000

The ORSIS T-5000 was added in v0.12.2.5479 patch and appears in 7.62x51mm NATO caliber. It is an exceedinly rare and expensive sniper rifle that is seldom used, as its expensive price-tag and limited modular options limit its use as the Mosin or R700 offer significantly better modification options and being drastically cheaper in price.

Remington Model 700

The Remington Model 700 was added in Update v0.11.0.2448. It is chambered in .308 Winchester/7.62x51mm NATO, and features a Hogue stock and detachable Wyatt magazines (in both 5- and 10-round varieties); the rifle also can be reloaded with individual rounds, if needed. It is sometimes used by Player Scavs and used by Sniper Scavs, often fitted with a short-range optical sight such as a EOTech Vudu 1x-6x or a VOMZ Pilad 4x32 Optical Scope. In the latest update, players who have the Escape from Darkness edition and choose the USEC PMC will get a Model 700 alongside a Burris 1-4x24 Optical Scope and 10 round magazines.

A variety of stock options are available ranging from the AT AICS Sniper Stock, the A*B Arms Mod X Gen 3 Stock, a Magpul PRO-700 Chassis and a polymer Promag Archangel Stock.

SV-98

The Izhmash SV-98 becomes available from Prapor at level 2 reputation where it can traded with a number of bartering items. It would only be purchasable with money at Prapor's level 3 reputation, where it costs nearly 100,000 roubles. By default, it comes with a 10 round magazine and a bipod, and without any optics. The OV-SV98 variant, added in the 0.12.12.30.18876 patch is purchasable from Jaeger at level 3 as well.

Player Scavs and Sniper Scavs will occasionally spawn with an SV-98 with or without optical sights. BEAR PMCs who purchased the Escape From Darkness edition will get a standard SV-98 with a KMZ 1P59 3x-10x Optical Scope as part as their starting inventory.

VPO-215 "Gornostay"

The VPO-215 "Gornostay" hunting rifle was added in v0.12.2.5479 patch. As with the VPO-209, it is chambered in .366 TKM (until 2021 it was considered a shotgun under Russian firearms laws and more suited for civilian purchase). It's mostly common seen on Scavs, often fitted with a VOMZ Pilad 4x32 optical sight.

Grenades & Explosives

Most grenades have an animation equipping them which involves unfolding the ends of the cotter pin. Should the player unequip their grenade, they character will fold the pin ends back to where they were. Also for most grenades, the armed world model isn't depicted ejecting the spoon (instead spawning with it already removed), though the fuze can be heard igniting with an audible "poof" sound.

F-1 Hand Grenade

The F-1 hand grenade is one the main hand grenades found in Tarkov, sometimes used by Scavengers and commonly found in crates. The F1 can be bartered at Level 3 Prapor reputation for two energy saving light bulbs or purchased with roubles at Level 4 reputation with Prapor. The Spiritus Systems Bank Robber Chest Rig is modeled with an unusable F-1 Hand Grenade in its pouch. There used to be a bug where Scavs would end up killing themselves by standing within the large blast radius after deploying the F1.

M67 Hand Grenade

The M67 is available from trader Peacekeeper. It can be bartered from Peacekeeper for two "Zibbo Lighters", or it can be directly purchased from him after completing one of his quests. It is not used by AI Scavs and is very rare to find in a raid, only being found inside black weapon crates. It costs between $49-51 in-game and still retains its "middle of the road" status, bridging the power and throw gap between the RGD-5 and F-1.

RGD-5 Hand Grenade

The RGD-5 hand grenade is the least damaging of the three explosive grenades, and is also the heaviest, having the shortest throwing distance and smallest blast radius. This however also makes it ideal for use inside enclosed spaces. To compensate for its lack of damage, it is also the cheapest and easiest to find, available to be bartered from Prapor for one Energy Saving Lightbulb at level 2 reputation, or purchased with roubles at level 3 reputation. It is also the most common grenade found inside Grenade Boxes and is also sometimes found in the pockets or vests of AI Scavs.

The VOG-25 Khattabka grenade makeshift grenade was added in the March 6, 2020 (0.12.4 patch). The grenades are made from GP-series grenade launcher VOG-25 grenades and UZRG-M fuzes, though the model used for the makeshift grenade is the VOG-25P instead of the VOG-25.

AGS-30

The AGS-30 was included in patch 0.12 on the Reserve level, where two can be found inside the military base and one atop the weather station. It was later added to several other maps, with it notably being used by Rouge USEC PMCs on Lighthouse.

NSV heavy machine gun

The NSV heavy machine gun (identified by the rivets on its receiver) was added in patch 0.12 as NSV "Utyos" (also translated as "Utes", meaning "Cliff"). First added to the map Reserve, Glukhar's followers often use the NSV to protect their leader and Rogue USEC enemies protecting the water treatment plant on Lighthouse to great effect. Unusable NSV machine guns are seen littered around the maps, with vehicle mounted NSV-T variants mounted on the T90A tanks scattered throughout the game.

"Cosmoblasters" (current production name) toy gun

A toy gun inspired by the Makarov, based off a real Soviet rip-off of a Star Trek toy gun, was added as a late April fools day joke in 2024. It can be used as an actual pistol, but pretty much does next to no damage, due to it using plastic disks as its ammo. Believe it or not, is actually possible to get a kill with it, but it requires approximately 35 shots to the face at point blank range.

RPG-7

Official art with the Prapor trader contains an RPG-7 with PGO-7 scope. The RPG-7 is also officially confirmed by the developers and will be added in the future.
