'''''The History Channel - Battle For The Pacific''''' is a first-person shooter published by Activision, set in the Pacific Theater of World War II. It is the sequel to ''[[History Channel: Civil War - A Nation Divided]]'' and ''[[History Channel Civil War: Secret Missions]]''
 +

 +
Two versions of the game exist. The Xbox 360, PS3 and PC version was developed by Cauldron, while the PS2 and Wii version was developed by FUN Labs; aside from the name, they share no similarities with each other and are otherwise entirely distinct games. As such, they will be covered in separate sections on this article.

The History Channel - Battle For The Pacific is a first-person shooter published by Activision, set in the Pacific Theater of World War II. It is the sequel to History Channel: Civil War - A Nation Divided and History Channel Civil War: Secret Missions

The following weapons appear in the video game The History Channel: Battle for the Pacific:

Xbox 360/PS3/PC version

Pistols

Colt M1911A1

The Colt M1911A1 is the main sidearm throughout the game by default.

M1911A1 - 45 ACP
Cocking the hammer while drawing.
Holding the "M1911".
Aiming.
Looking at the empty pistol.
Pressing in a full magazine.
When the player does nothing for a long time he will swing his sidearm.

Nambu Type 14

Nambu Type 14 pistols are seen in Japanese officers' holsters, but they only use them in "last stand" after going down.

Nambu Type 14 - 8x22mm Nambu

Submachine Guns

Nambu Type 100/44

The 1944 model of the Type 100 submachine gun modeled with a straight magazine instead of an accurate curved one is used by the Japanese Army in the game.

Enjoying the view of Mount Suribachi with a captured "Type 100".
Aiming.
Firing the submachine gun. The charging handle is in motion.
The Type 100 without a magazine during reloading.
Inserting another magazine.
Pushing back the charging handle which actually does not move forward after emptying the gun.

Thompson M1A1

The M1A1 Thompson is the standard submachine gun of the U.S Marine Corps. The in-game model is equipped with a 30-round magazine which only includes 20 bullets.

The third person model. Note the long 30-round magazine.

Shotguns

Winchester M1897

The Winchester Model 1897 shotgun is first given to you at Guadalcanal. It is a very powerful short-range weapon that will take out any enemy with a few shots.

Aiming.
Pumping the action after firing a single shot.
Filling in the tube magazine with loose shells.
Completing the reload by pumping the action.

Rifles

Arisaka Type 38/Type 99

The Arisaka Type 38 was the rifle used by the Japanese on many levels. It is a simple easy to use the rifle and surprisingly, you never see it with a bayonet. While called a Type 38 in the game, it appears to be modeled with some elements of the Type 99.

Arisaka Type 38 - 6.5x50mm Arisaka
Arisaka Type 99 - 7.7x58mm Arisaka
Holding a received "Type 38" on Guadalcanal Island.
Aiming.
Cycling the bolt-handle.
Placing a 5-round stripper clip on the chamber.
Sinking in the stripper clip. Like many games from this period, the Arisaka is always reloaded with a full 5-round stripper clip, with no regard for rounds still in the chamber.
The melee attack shows the bolt-handle in detail.

Arisaka Type 97

The scoped version of the Arisaka Type 38, the Type 97, is available in multiplayer.

Machine Guns

M1918A2 Browning Automatic Rifle

The Browning Automatic Rifle is a rather uncommon weapon in the game.

Holding a "BAR" during the last assault on Mount Suribachi.
Aiming.
Inserting a full magazine.
Charging the BAR. Note the character's fingers clipping through the charging handle.

The Type 96 light machine gun is used by the Japanese as a portable weapon.

Pressing in a new magazine.
Moving the charging handle.

Grenades & Explosives

Mk 2 Hand Grenade

The Mk 2 hand grenade is the standard grenade in the game.

M15 Anti-Tank Mine

Anachronistic and out-of-place M15 anti-tank mines must be disarmed at one point in the game.

M15 Anti-Tank Mine
Midway through clearing a Japanese minefield, the protagonist is distracted from the question of why the Japanese would lay down a field of unburied American-made anti-tank landmines that haven't been invented yet to stop infantry by said mines' markings; "TM-46" is written on them, despite that being a completely different (and also anachronistic) mine.

Emplaced Weapons

Browning M1919A6

The Browning M1919A6 can be seen as a usable emplaced weapon.
