The appearance of this weapon and its optic(s) is an anachronism, as the series is set in the early-/mid-2000s, and neither the Daniel Defense M4A1 nor the EOTech 553 and EXPS-3 existed during that timeframe (though the Daniel Defense RIS II rail utilized on this weapon was first developed and evaluated by SOCOM during 2005-2006).
