Your lack of effort is duly noted. This article is a candidate for deletion. IMFDB expects certain minimal standards from articles; even if a contributor cannot take their own screenshots, it is still possible to create detailed per-weapon writeups and format an article correctly. Simply dumping a couple of weapon names on a page is essentially demanding we do all the work for you, and this is unacceptable. |

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is a 2017 FPS game. It is the eighth major entry in the Wolfenstein series and a direct sequel to 2014's Wolfenstein: The New Order. The game is set in a 1960s United States of America (known as "The American Territories") in an alternate universe, where Nazi Germany has won World War II and is currently the only superpower in the world. The player reprises the role of William "B.J" Blazkowicz, who has barely survived the events of The New Order, and is now charged with meeting with the surviving resistance groups in the United States and organizing for a revolution against the Nazi regime.
Gameplay Overview
Gameplay is similar to the previous game: a single-player-focused shooter where B.J. can carry all weapons (excluding heavy ones) as well as several grenades and hatchets (which replace knives). Despite his condition, B.J can still dual-wield weapons, though this time he can wield different ones on either hand. Weapon upgrades are now acquired by finding upgrade kits hidden throughout the levels.
The following weapons make an appearance in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus:
Handguns
Luger P08
The "Handgun 1946" (a slightly modified Luger P08) from Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is seen in the hands of Irene Engel (voiced by Nina Franoszek) and Adolf Hitler (voiced by Norbert Weisser), though it isn't available for use by the player. Frau Engel's Golden Luger is the model you receive when you find all gold bars in The Old Blood.
"Pistole"
A heavily modified Luger P08, this weapon makes a return from makes a return from Wolfenstein: The New Order as the weapon of choice of Nazi officers (although, unlike that game's 3-round burst "Handgun 1960", this weapon is semi-auto only, and called the "Pistole"). Several upgrades can be applied to the "Pistole" throughout the campaign, including a suppressor, an extended magazine, and a "Magnum" upgrade, which increases the damage (and also the recoil) of the weapon.
"Kampfpistole"
A further modified version of The Old Blood's altered Kampfpistole is available, now being fed by a 6-round detachable drum, instead of the previous game's breech-loaded version, as well as launching slower-firing grenades that bounce off of surfaces before detonating after a short time. Upgrades include a shoulder stock to reduce recoil (which is very similar to the one from a Mauser C96, and its holster's properties incomprehensible, considering that Kampfpistole is physically unable to fit in there), a spring loader that allows the gun to fire a 3-round salvo, and modified ammo that flies like rockets as in The Old Blood.
Shotguns
Double Barreled Shotgun
During a flashback to B.J's childhood, his father Rip Blazkowicz (voiced by Glenn Morshower) forces him to use a Double Barreled Shotgun. Rip is later seen carrying the same shotgun when he meets B.J during the current events of the game.
Submachine Guns
"Maschinenpistole"
The "Maschinenpistole" is essentially the counterpart to the SMG from the previous game's prologue, being the standard-issue weapon for Nazi soldiers stationed in the American Territories. Its design is primarily based on the Walther MPL SMG with barrel shroud from the older MP 18 / MP 28, and it has an strange chimney-like structure on the right-hand side. Upgrades include an integral suppressor, a drum magazine that doubles its capacity, and an odd "Nailgun" mod which fires heated bullets at a slower speed.
Rifles
Lever-Action Rifle
During a flashback, B.J's father is seen giving him an unidentified lever-action rifle.
"Sturmgewehr"
The "Sturmgewehr" returns from The New Order, albeit with a slightly different model from the TNO's "Assault Rifle 1960." In terms of visuals, it still has the Stg-44-esque forend and barrel profile (albeit with a more AK-47-like front sight post), with the lower receiver, pistol grip, and magazine of an FN FAL, and the trigger guard and rear sight from a SIG SG 550-series rifle. It has a slightly downgraded capacity of 30 rounds compared to its predecessor, and is wielded by elite soldiers. Upgrades include jungle-taped dual magazines, a scope that converts the weapon to into a semi-auto marksman rifle, and armor-piercing rounds.
