Hi, I do believe that JSDF or Japan Self-Defense Forces are modern military organization belongs to Japan, not Japanese police. Despite that they cannot be called Army,Navy or Air Force they are still military. By the way I never had a chance to see this movie myself, are they being depicted as police in this movie? Plus I do believes that at least one P220 is in the movie(the second pistol from right among those on the table). - Hi! JSDF isn't military but civilian organisation. It some variant of military police. Japan hasn't all form of own army since 1945. Japan can't possess own army due they constitution (article 9). Japan is absolute defenceless country. Also, Howa Type 89 isn't present in this film. Also in Russian dubbing JSDF called as "Self-Defence Forces". So, I wrote: JSDF is a special Forces. - The statement that Japan is absolute defenceless country is nonsense. JSDF isn't army only by name, in fact it's a powerful military force with about 250,000 men, more then 1000 tanks and AFVs, more than 300 combat planes and a naval force that contains two aircraft carriers, 40 destroyers and 20 submarines. So you still call Japan defenceless country?

- You can find a lot of info about JSDF in Wikipedia. The complete banning of any military really had place in Japan in 1945 but in 1950 a so-called "National Police Reserve" was formed and in 1954 land, sea and air forces, called Japan Self-Defence Forces, were formed. It was a rebirth of Japanese military. BTW, there is a good chance that Japan will officially rename JSDF in Japanese Army/Navy in very recent time, maybe even this year.

- I believes you are right that Japan is banned of possessing any army since its defeat, which is why its modern "military" are named "Defense force" instead of regular army.It is true that they were created by US occupy force after WWII as armed police, but they were reorganized into military organization we see todays during the high of coldwar era. Anyway since they are created purposely only for "Self-Defense" they have no right to own any bombers and their aircraft carriers are just helicopter carrier with some capability to have VTOLs land but not fixed wing on their deck, I think that`s what make them different from what we call "Army""Marine"or "AirForce". I think they might be called "military" with capability to defense its territory but no enough to invade others(Which I believes they purposely done so to avoid similarity to the Imperial Japanese military).The one right here I think I see a rank insignia on the actress`s uniform, so i believes the film do intended to portrait JGSDF personals. About the one in that schoolgirl zombies, they have same uniforms as those we see in this film but I have never seen some reddish patch on real-life JSDF personals, I do not know what they are intended to do with this one.
