Heckler & Koch HK33SG/1

Heckler & Koch HK33SG/1 - 5.56x45mm NATO

The HK33SG/1 is a sniper variant of the standard HK33, along the same lines as the Heckler & Koch G3SG/1. It is accurised using a hand picked barrel, is fitted with a slightly adjustable cheek riser and features a special trigger group. This trigger group features a special secondary trigger allowing the main trigger to be manually "set" before a shot, meaning that it will have a crisp pull of approximately 1 pound. This trigger group is taken directly from the G3SG/1 rifle, which means that while the vast majority of HK33s have polymer lowers of one sort or another, genuine HK33SG/1s have the same metal lower used on the G3SG/1.

NOTE: Only rifles that can be positively identified as an HK33SG/1 via the presence of the special trigger pack should be listed here. Fitting a cheek riser and a scope to an HK33A2 does not make it an HK33SG/1.

Heckler & Koch HK93A3 - 5.56x45mm NATO
Heckler & Koch HK93A2 with Hensoldt scope - 5.56x45mm NATO
Vector Arms V-93 with 40-round magazine - 5.56x45mm. Vector Arms is an American firearms manufacturer who is currently building a high quality clone of the HK33/93 rifles. The biggest visual difference between the Vector Arms V-93 guns and the original German rifles is the addition of an enlarged "MP5 Navy" style trigger group on the American gun and a single piece molded plastic buttstock (Like the later model MP5 stocks), a feature that is not present on the German rifle.

The HK93 is the semiautomatic civilian version of the HK33 Rifle imported into the United States between 1975 and 1989 (the year that all 'evil' looking rifles were in essence barred from import without some modifications). It is actually an updated version of the civilian HK43 Rifle (which was the semi auto sporting rifle variant of the HK33 imported 1974). It differs from the select fire HK33 by way of a metal trigger pack, no push pin assembly and no paddle release as well as the single "0" and "1" fire select settings (indicating it is a Semi Auto only rifle).

Specifications

(1975 - 1989)

Heckler & Koch G41

Heckler & Koch G41 - 5.56x45mm
Heckler & Koch G41A2 - 5.56x45mm

Developed in the 1980s, the G41 is an HK33 modified with a STANAG magazine well, allowing it to take M16 magazines. The G41 also has a unique 4-position trigger group with "burst" setting (Safe/Semi/3-Round Burst/Auto), similar to the trigger groups on MP5A4s/MP5A5s. It also utilized some internal components from the high-grade PSG-1 Sniper Rifle. What killed the design for law enforcement was its outrageous price of $1,700 per weapon, in 1980s dollars.

Specifications

(1983 - 1996)

  • Type: Assault Rifle

Harrington & Richardson T223

T223 trials rifle. - 5.56x45mm
Harrington & Richardson T223 with slimline handguard and 30 round magazine. - 5.56x45mm

A license-produced American version of the West German-made HK33, the T223 was designed to compete with the M16. The rifle was almost identical to the HK33 with the main differences being that the fire selector was in English and the bipod was redesigned so that it had a tab that slotted into a mount behind the forend, rather than clamping to the siderails. Issued primarily to Navy SEALs where it was popular, its non-standard magazine, cost, and bias against non-American designs prevented the T223 from seeing widespread use.

The Harrington & Richardson T223 and variants can be seen in the following films, television series, video games, and anime used by the following actors:
