Malmgern used it to kill a polar bear approaching camp, providing the survivors with a much-needed supply of fresh meat.

Soviet policemen at the Palace Bridge in Petrograd (now Saint Petersburg) carry holsters for Nagant M1895 revolvers. It is hard to tell if these holsters include the revolver.
