Mission: Impossible is the 1996 feature film adaptation of the popular 1960's spy series of the same name. Directed by Brian De Palma (Scarface), the film stars Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, an agent of the IMF (Impossible Mission Force), who discovers that a mole within the agency caused his team to be eliminated on a mission and put the CIA's NOC list out in the open. After being framed him for the crime, Ethan must uncover the mole's identity while attempting to keep the list from being sold to the highest bidder. The film co-starred Ving Rhames, Jon Voight and Emilio Estevez and would spawn a feature film franchise which includes Mission: Impossible II (2000), Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011), and Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015).
