The M14 rifle and variants can be seen in the following films, television series, and video games used by the following actors:

Specifications

Type: Battle Rifle

Caliber: 7.62x51mm NATO

Fire Modes: Semi-Auto/Full-Auto (M14, M14E2); Semi-Auto (M21, M25) or Civilian models (M14A, M1A)

M14 Rifle

M14 rifle - 7.62x51mm NATO
M14E2 Light Machine Gun - a variant of the M14 that was an attempt at an early SAW, meant to supplement the B.A.R.s and M60s used by American and ARVN troops in the Vietnam War. The design has some obvious flaws as an LMG, being that this rifle doesn't seem very practical as an automatic weapon in the first place.).- 7.62x51mm NATO

The military stopped issuing F/A M14's because they were too hard to control, existing rifles were fixed to fire semi only. M14/M1A's come in 3 barrel lengths 22", 18" bush or scout and the 16"socom. The military uses the 22 or 18. the navy seals prefer the 18" in the sage ebr chassis. MOD 0 or MOD 1

Mk 14 Mod 0 EBR

This weapon is actually called Mk. 14 Mod 0 EBR (Mark 14 Mod 0 Enhanced Battle Rifle). Even thought the internal parts are from an M14, this weapon is not called M14 EBR. This is a common mistake. It was developed for the US Navy (SEAL Teams to be more precise), and thus it is type classified as a "Mark" weapons system.

Mk 14 Mod 0 EBR. 7.62x51 NATO, with a Harris bipod and vertical RIS foregrip.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith wasn't a sage stock, it was a TROY SOPMOD, a total gas system conversion to make the rifle more compact. It pre dated the sage system by about 3 years. Very limited availability

Video Games

  • Operation 7 (with a variety of optics, foregrip, stocks, and 16", 20" and 24" barrel lengths)
  • Modern Warfare 2 From the screen shots, "SOAP" has a MK14 MOD 1 on his back and not a mod 0
