In season seven, the separated survivors are forced to learn to live in the aftermath of the cult's nuclear explosions in the previous season's finale. When one of Morgan's friends crosses the line and becomes the brutal leader of his own settlement, the others must band together and fight back. The season is directed by Michael Satrazemis, Ron Underwood, Heather Cappiello and others, consists of sixteen episodes and was premiered on October 17, 2021 on AMC.

Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) uses a Luger P08 as his sidearm during the season. The first time he puts the gun to the head of a newcomer to the Tower, a guy named Will, as he tries to escape in "The Beacon" (S7E01).

...but when he turns around, it appears to be Victor (Colman Domingo), the leader of the Tower.
