Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
The following weapons were used in Season 3 of the series Magnum P.I.:
Handguns
Colt Government Model
The main handgun used by Thomas Magnum (Tom Selleck) is a Colt MKIV/Series 70 Government Model, which is a commercial version of the U.S. Military M1911A1. This handgun is supposed to be the one he carried during his service in Vietnam and is sometimes carried in a tanker-style holster, most often seen carried inside wast band small of back, no holster. It is sometimes seen in Magnum's flashbacks to Vietnam. A former propmaster for the show has been quoted saying that the original gun was a traditional .45 ACP 1911, but was soon changed to a 9mm version because .45 ACP blanks were too hard to get on location for the show.
Tokarev TT-33
A Tokarev TT-33 pistol is seen used by Ivan (Bo Svenson) during a flashback to the Vietnam War in "Did You See the Sunrise, Pt.1" (S3E01).
Walther PPK
Magnum carries a Walther PPK as a backup weapon in an ankle holster, notably seen in "The Big Blow" (S3E22).
Walther P38
Floyd (Pat Studstill) uses a Walther P38 to threaten TC (Roger E. Mosley) and Higgins (John Hillerman) in "Past Tense" (S3E05). It is also seen being carried by North Vietnamese soldiers
Revolvers
Colt Detective Special
The Colt Detective Special is used throughout the series.
Smith & Wesson Model 15
A Smith & Wesson Model 15 is kept in a tanker style holster in TC's microbus glove box. in "Did You See the Sunrise, Pt.2" (S3E02).
Smith & Wesson Model 25/29
An N-frame Smith & Wesson revolver can be seen held by an agent in "Did You See the Sunrise? Pt. 2" (S3E02). Unlike Model 27 and Model 28, Model 25 and Model 29 feature no tapered barrels, and are virtually indistinguishable from one another.
Submachine Guns
Uzi
Orville "Rick" Wright (Larry Manetti) uses an Uzi submachine gun in "Past Tense" (S3E05).
Rifles
M16 Rifle
M16 rifles are used by US Marines as well as Nuzo (James Whitmore Jr.) in "Did You See the Sunrise, Pt.2" (S3E02).
Remington 700
Ivan (Bo Svenson) is seen using a Remington 700 in "Did You See the Sunrise, Pt.2" (S3E02).
Valmet M71S
As what was common for productions in the 1970's and 1980's, the Valmet M71S rifle is seen used as a substitute for the AK-47. In a flashback to the Vietnam War, NVA soldiers are armed with the rifle.
Machine Guns
M60
An M60 machine gun is used by Lyden (James Wainwright) in "Past Tense" (S3E05).
