The Age of Mercy (original title Mesto vstrechi izmenit nelzya (The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed)) is a 1979 Soviet five-part television miniseries created by Stanislav Govorukhin. The series is set in post-WWII Moscow. Two MUR (Moscow Department of Criminal Investigations) detectives - Gleb Zheglov (Vladimir Vysotsky) and Vladimir Sharapov (Vladimir Konkin) - investigate the murder of a young actress and hunt for a gang of robbers calling themselves the "Black Cats".

The Age of Mercy is the title of a novel by the Vayner Brothers on which the movie is based.

Handguns

Nagant M1895

A Nagant M1895 is the personal weapon of Gleb Zheglov (Vladimir Vysotsky). Nagants are also used by MUR detectives Nikolai Taraskin (Andrei Gradov), Ivan Passyuk (Aleksandr Milyutin) (in one scene; he is seen with a TT-33), Toporkov (Yevgeni Stezhko), the driver Kopytin (Aleksey Mironov), and by robbers of the Black Cat gang "Gorbaty" (Hunchback) (Armen Dzhigarkhanyan), "Zhzhony" (Burnt) (Aleksandr Abdulov) and one uncredited person.

Tokarev TT-33

A Tokarev TT-33 is the personal weapon of Vladimir Sharapov (Vladimir Konkin). TT-33s are also used by MUR detectives Ivan Passyuk (Aleksandr Milyutin), Pyotr Solovyov (Vsevolod Abdulov), Vasily Vekshin (Evgeniy Leonov-Gladyshev), and by robbers of the Black Cat gang Fox (Aleksandr Belyavskiy), "Promokashka" (Blotting Paper) (Ivan Bortnik), and an unnamed person (Vladimir Zharikov).

Femaru 37M

Black Cat gang member Tyagunov (Oleg Savosin) is armed with a Femaru 37M.

Tyagunov draws his pistol. Note the shape of the rear part and the external extractor, distinguishing it from the TT-33s seen more commonly in the series. The hole in the slide shows that the pistol was deactivated.

Walther PP

During the car chase, Vladimir Sharapov's (Vladimir Konkin) TT-33 switches to a Walther PP and later back again.

Luger P 08

"Gorbaty" (Armen Dzhigarkhanyan), the boss of the Black Cat gang, carries a Luger P 08. In the final scene, it switches to a Nagant M1895 due to a continuity error.

Walther Model 4

A Walther Model 4 is the murder weapon in the case investigated by Zheglov and Sharapov. In the movie, it is incorrectly referred to as a "Bayard 6.35mm" (which is .25 ACP).

An MP 40 is seen in a deleted scene of Sharapov's wartime flashback.

Shotguns

12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun

An aged store keeper (Vladimir Yevchenko) tries to protect himself with a 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun against Black Cat robbers, but fails.

A shotgun is seen on the wall.
Store keeper is killed by robbers when trying to get his shotgun. The weapon is held by a robber (Rudolf Mukhin).

Mosin Nagant/Frolov Shotgun

A bolt action Mosin Nagant/Frolov Shotgun (possibly an R-32 version) is seen in hands of a store keeper (uncredited) during the unsuccessful robbery attempt.
