The Punisher (2017 TV Series)

The Punisher is the 2017 Netflix series adaptation of the Marvel Comics character. Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the series stars Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, aka "The Punisher", who had previously been introduced in Season 2 of the Netflix series Daredevil. In this series, Castle comes out of hiding when a conspiracy is uncovered that involves his service as a Marine fighting in Afghanistan. This version of The Punisher is the fourth such adaptation, following the feature films that were released in 1989, 2004, and 2008. The Punisher premiered as a standalone series on November 17, 2017, and streamed 26 episodes for two seasons until 2019.
On March 1st, 2022, all Marvel Originals shows including The Punisher were removed from Netflix and subsequently moved to Disney+.
