Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is the 2009 prequel to the 2006/2007 game Call of Juarez, which was released for the PC and Xbox 360. A sequel entitled Call of Juarez: The Cartel was released July 19th 2011. A fourth game entitled Call of Juarez: Gunslinger was released May 22, 2013.
Upgrades:
Every gun can be found in four different conditions: rusty, normal, prime and superb. The rusty weapons are rusty, weak and have slow reloads. The prime weapons are silver with wooden grips and the superb ones are golden with pearl/ivory grips (wooden grips in the case of rifles and shotguns). Both are much better (concerning fire power and reload speed) than the normal and rusty guns.
The following weapons appear in the video game Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood:
Handguns
Colt Walker
A cartridge-converted Colt Walker appears as the "Ranger", and it appears to have a grip, trigger guard, and webbing of the Remington 1858. It has also been modified to have rear sights. In-game, the revolver has a slow reload speed and rate of fire, but packs a serious punch. While the Colt Walker was produced in 1847 (20 years prior to the events of the game), only 1,100 were made. A more accurate choice would have been either the Colt 1860 Army or Colt Dragoon.
Remington 1890 Revolver
The Remington 1890 revolver appears as the "Classic Gun". It has a medium reload speed and is a good gun to use, although it is not as powerful as the Ranger or Volcano Gun. It is anachronistic as this revolver was not produced until 1890. A more accurate choice for a mid-size revolver would have been the Starr Model 1863.
Smith and Wesson Model 3 Schofield
The Smith & Wesson Schofield appears as the "Quickshooter." It has a low power output but a high rate of fire and the quickest reload time, due to its top break design. Ray McCall canonically wields a pair of Schofield's throughout the campaign, however, it is another anachronistic gun. This revolver is always dual-wielded akimbo-style by the A.I. partner regardless if the player had bought different guns for that character. A more accurate choice for a quick reloading revolver would have been the Remington 1858 revolver.
Volcanic Repeater
The Volcanic Repeater appears as the "Volcano Gun". It serves as the game's "Magnum" weapon, with a somewhat low fire rate and a slow reload speed balanced out by its high damage; this is an odd choice, given that the Volcanic repeater was somewhat notoriously weak in reality (with the .41 caliber version producing a measly 56 foot-pounds (~76 joules) of muzzle energy, about as much as a .25 ACP round). The in-game Volcanic also incorrectly holds 12 rounds - in reality, the largest pistol-size Volcanic Repeaters held 10.
LeMat Revolver (Centerfire)
The centerfire model of the LeMat Revolver appears as the "Hybrid Gun". It is a relatively weak revolver but holds 9 rounds and has a good fire rate. The underbarrel shotgun is fired as the LeMat's first shot. The gun also has a faster fire rate for the first two shots. While the LeMat was available during the game's set period, a more accurate model would have been the LeMat 1861 (which in reality was used by Confederate forces).
Remington 1866 Derringer
The Remington 1866 Derringer appears as the "Ladies Gun" and performance wise is a weak hitting and short ranged weapon, often taking 4-5 rounds to down an enemy even point blank. While appropriate for the game's setting, the 1866 was not in wide usage by then.
Lefaucheux Pepperbox
The Lefaucheux Pepperbox appears as the "Peppergun," a slow shooting, slow reloading and not a very powerful gun. The Lefaucheux is depicted with a bayonet attached, which is unfortunately not usable. While this may seem odd, there are several historical examples of pepperbox revolvers with small bayonets attached to them.
Colt 1878 Double Action
The Colt 1878 Double Action appears on the box for handgun ammunition boxes. Its appearance is anachronistic since this revolver was introduced in 1878.
Rifles
Winchester Model 1892
The Winchester Model 1892 is used in-game as the "Classic Rifle" and "Scoped Classic Rifle". The latter only appears in multiplayer but can be used in custom missions. Is used by nearly all enemies in the game, though it is another anachronistic weapon. A more accurate choice would have been the Henry 1860.
Sharps 1874 Buffalo
The Sharps 1874 Buffalo appears as the "Heavy Rifle" and "Scoped Heavy Rifle" and is the most powerful rifle in the game but has a slow reload, but an awesome range and damage output. The Superb Scoped Heavy Rifle is not useable by the player in single player except for in custom missions. The use of the Sharps 1874 is anachronistic for the game's set period and a more accurate choice would have been the Sharps 1863 Carbine.
Springfield Musket
Union and Confederate soldiers in inaccessible areas of the first level use Springfield Muskets which are designed from various models. The barrel bands and rear sight is based off the Model 1863, it has a patchbox like the Model 1855, and the lock assembly and trigger is very similar to the Model 1842. It is unusable by the player.
Shotguns
Remington Model 1889
The Remington Model 1889 shotgun appears as the "Shotgun". It is also available sawed-off. The second most common long gun in the game behind the Winchester Model 1892. However, like the Winchester, the Model 1889 is anachronistic for the game's time period. A more accurate choice would have been any percussion double-barreled shotgun.
Machine Guns
Model 1874 Gatling Gun
Model 1874 Gatling Guns can be mounted and are used rather heavily for a rare gun. Union and Confederate troops and several gangs use them, and in one level you mount one on a wagon. In Chapter VII and Chapter XV, there are man-portable Gatling Guns that Ray can carry, which is a little far-fetched. Most Gatlings are depicted in-game with a Broadwell drum magazine, while those that can be carried are depicted with a stick magazine.
It is anachronistic for the Civil War era since Gatling guns were developed in 1861 and patented on November 4, 1862 while the later M1874 didn't exist at that time. The first combat usage of the early M1862 Type II Gatling Guns was at the Siege of Petersburg.
Others
Dynamite
As a weapon only used by Ray McCall, dynamite is also utilized by some enemies as a way to flush out the player into fire. In-game it functions as a "grenade". However, its appearance is anachronistic as dynamite was not patented until 1867. A more accurate choice would be black powder charges. Surprisingly enough, grenades were in use during the American Civil War, such as the Ketchum grenade (which was notorious for being largely ineffective).
Cannon
Used only in the first level to destroy incoming Union rafts and in the second level to destroy a Union steamboat. Col. Jeremy Barnsby's renegades employ cannons during an attack on an Apache village.
