Smallville was an American television sci-fi drama that was a different take on the "Superman" character. The series followed a teenage Clark Kent (Tom Welling) living in his adopted town of Smallville and slowly discovering his true identity. Unlike other versions of the character, Clark never actually is seen becoming the iconic Superman (until the final episode of the series). The series aired for 10 seasons from 2001 to 2011 on the WB network, which eventually become the CW.
