China Gate (1957) was written, produced and directed by Samuel Fuller (The Steel Helmet, Pickup on South Street, Merrill's Marauders) and was set during the First Indochina War. The film starred Gene Barry, Angie Dickinson, Nat “King” Cole, Lee Van Cleef, Neyle Morrow, and James Hong. The French Foreign Legion sends a small team on a dangerous sabotage mission in communist-controlled North Vietnam.

The following weapons were used in the film China Gate:

M3 / M3A1 "Grease Gun"

Throughout the film, Legionnaires carry the M3 / M3A1 "Grease Gun".

M3 "Grease Gun" .45 ACP. The later model M3A1 would eliminate the crank lever for cocking the bolt, and instead used a simple hole in the bolt for the shooter to use their finger.

Throughout the film, Legionnaires carry the M1 Carbine.
