CSI: Crime Scene Investigation was the long-running CBS crime procedural series that followed teams of crime scene investigators who work for the "Las Vegas Police Department" (in reality, the department is known as the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department).  CSI became a big success for the CBS network and would spawn three spin-off series in the ensuing years: CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, and CSI: Cyber. The main cast up until Season 8 included Dr. Gil Grissom (William Petersen), Captain Jim Brass (Paul Guilfoyle), Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox), Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger), and Nick Stokes (George Eads).  In the more recent seasons, several new CSI's joined the cast, including Dr. Ray Langston (Laurence Fishburne), Julie Finlay (Elisabeth Shue), and D.B. Russell (Ted Danson, who later would join the cast of CSI: Cyber).  CSI premiered in the US on CBS in 2000 with its last full season finishing in the spring of 2015The series officially concluded with a two-hour "television event" that aired on September 27, 2015. In October of 2021, CSI: Vegas, a sequel series with William Petersen and Jorja Fox reprising their roles, premiered on CBS.
The Glock 17 is the most common handgun featured in the series. Dr. Gil Grissom (William Petersen) carried one in Seasons 1-2 as well in Season 4's premiere, but after that was never seen wielding one again. Detective Vartann (Alex Carter) is also frequently seen carrying a Glock 17 as well as most of the junior detectives and officersA man uses a full-sized Glock, believed to be a 17, to defend his store and mother in the episode "Better Off Dead."

Nick Stokes (George Eads) uses a Smith & Wesson SW99 with a nickel-plated slide.  Its most prominent showing is in the Season 5 finale "Grave Danger" when the gun is tossed in with Nick before he is buried alive in a Plexiglass coffin.  Midway through the episode, having discovered that his built-in air supply is threatened by a light inside the coffin (which comes on whenever his colleagues activate a website and webcam that allows them to view his plight), Nick stuffs his ears with gum and then shoots out the light, giving Warrick Brown (Gary Dourdan) a scare (He later regrets it when fire ants invade the coffin).  Nick frequently seen with his gun drawn is the final episodes of season 8 and 9 when apprehending the rogue Undersherrif Jeff McKeen (Conor O'Farrell). In the Season 10 finale Nick uses his SW99 to shoot Dr. Jekyll 6 times killing him instantly after Dr. Jekyll shoots him in the chest and shoulder with a shotgun. And also in the season 11 premire Nick shoots a suspect emptying his mag into the suspect and tries to reload and continue firing but due to PTSD from not backing up a Police Officer getting him killed (in season 10 finale).  Catherine calms him down and makes him realize he was in shock.

Olympic Arms OA-93
Two of the bank robbers from the episode "Inside the Box" (Season 3, Episode 23)  are armed with short AR-15 Pistols.  The upper receivers seem to be the Olympic Arms OA-93, but the lower receivers have a short buffer tube, which is not necessary on the OA-93 design since the top receiver and foregrip include the innovative spring system that doesn't require a buffer tube and spring to operate the bolt carrier.  Since the guns never fire in the episode, one can assume that a prop armorer assembled these pistols up from different guns. They are also seen fitted with telescoping stocks as used on M16 rifle series-type carbines.

CSI premiered in the US on CBS in 2000 with its last full season finishing in the spring of 2015. The series officially concluded with a two-hour "television event" that aired on September 27, 2015. In October of 2021, CSI: Vegas, a sequel series with William Petersen and Jorja Fox reprising their roles, premiered on CBS.

The following lists the seasons of the series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation:
