'''''Galactica 1980''''' was the continuation of the original 1978 ABC science fiction series ''Battlestar Galactica''The series was set thirty years following the events of the original series, as the Galactica and the ragtag fleet finally find Earth.   While Lorne Greene returned as Commander Adama, most of the original series cast members did not return for this series.  Unlike the original series (which did not feature any real world firearms), some firearms were seen in the hands of military personnel as well as civilian law enforcement.  The series aired for one season in 1980 and was released into television syndication billed as the second season of ''Battlestar Galactica''.
