Capt. Joe Grusinsky (Mark Wahlberg) gives his brother Bobby Green (Joaquin Phoenix) a nickel Model 36 that had belonged to their father before the raid on Nezhinski, which Green in turn hands to Capt. Jack Shapiro (Tony Musante) at the finale.
Smith & Wesson Model 36, nickel plated - .38 Special. This model is often confused with the similar looking Smith & Wesson Model 60, which is a fully stainless steel gun.

Winchester Model 1200
A Russian mobster fires a Winchester Model 1200 during the drug raid but is shot and killed.
Winchester Model 1200 Police Model - 12 gauge. The precursor to the Model 1300 however it is an all metal shotgun with a deep blued finish. It was developed in 1964 and ended production when the U.S. Repeating Arms Company acquired Winchester from Olin in 1980. The 1200 eventually ceased all production in 1981 and ceded the pump shotgun like to the Model 1300.
