The Expendables is the 2010 action film co-written and directed by Sylvester Stallone that follows a team of mercenaries who are hired by the CIA to eliminate a South American dictator, until they find out the true nature of their mission. In addition to Stallone, the movie features virtually all of the living action film stars of the past 20 years including Jason Statham, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, and Steve Austin. The film also features cameo appearances from Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Numerous sequels would follow: 2012's The Expendables 2, 2014's The Expendables 3 as well as Expend4bles, a fourth feature film, which was released on September 22, 2023.

The following weapons were used in the film The Expendables:

Pistols

Beretta 92FS

Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) acquires a Beretta 92FS when confronting General Garza's soldiers and uses it until he throws it away while making a run for the plane on the docks.

Beretta 92G Elite 1A

Christmas carries a Beretta 92G Elite 1A on his vest in a cross draw holster. He uses it in conjunction with his knives in the final assault on General Garza's fortress. Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) is also seen with one holstered on his right leg during the final fortress battle. Toll Road (Randy Couture) pulls out a 92G Elite during the fight with Paine (Steve Austin), but the latter kicks the pistol out of his hand before he could fire a shot.

Glock 17

James Monroe (Eric Roberts) is seen carrying the Glock 17. When Ross and Yin Yang (Jet Li) are ambushed on the road, a thug uses one before being shot by Yang.

Glock 26

The Brit (Gary Daniels) fires a Glock 26 at the dock when Ross and Christmas escape from the island.

Modified Kimber Gold Combat II

Ross (Sylvester Stallone) also carries a pair of Modified Kimber Gold Combat II pistols, which he typically fires and reloads at rapid speeds. In fact, thanks to the rather crude overuse of sound effects, the guns are often implied to be firing far faster than what is actually visible on the screen. A more detailed description of the weapons can be found here

Ross does a fast reload on his Kimber. Several times during this sequence it is obvious the pistols aren't firing nearly as rapidly as the sound effects imply.

Custom M1911A1

A customized M1911A1 is seen in the hands of Gunnar (Dolph Lundgren) before pursuing Ross and Yang. He tries to use it at the factory after the chase, but Yang kicks it out of his hands before he could fire a shot. The pistols resemble the ones used by Thomas Jane in the film The Punisher (2004), in a likely shout out to Lundgren previously portraying the Punisher character in the 1989 adaptation.

Smith & Wesson 469

While in some scenes he appears to carry a Beretta in his holster, the Brit (Gary Daniels) is seen holding what appears to be a Smith & Wesson 469 on the dock that's dumped with gasoline by Ross. This is highly likely a continuity error, because seconds before he fired a Glock 26.

Noveske Rifleworks Diplomat

During the raid on Garza's compound, the majority of the Expendables can be seen carrying the Noveske Rifleworks Diplomat which is equipped with a Vltor VIS-1 monolithic upper receiver assembly. In February 2009, ISS (Independent Studio Services) received 12 Vltor VIS-1s with Diplomat barrel assemblies, with KX-3 flash-hiders. ISS also received 24 EMod stocks from Vltor, which were intended to be used in The Expendables. They are converted to full auto.

Shotguns

AA-12

Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) uses an AA-12 with drum magazine and flashlight attachment. The weapon is first loaded with normal rounds, later Caesar switches to FRAG-12 explosive rounds (which he describes in great detail right before the raid). He states that the rate of fire is 250 RPM rather than the real one's 300 (in the film it actually fires at 300 RPM). Furthermore, during the raid, he is seen firing around 53 rounds without reloading, even though the AA-12 can hold a maximum of 32 rounds.

Hale Caesar holds a FRAG-12 round: "You know, the enemy's always been terrified of noise, especially shotguns. With this big boy spitting out 250 rounds a minutes, you tell me who's tolerating that. Absolutely zero."
"What happened to you?!"
"Remember this shit at Christmas!"

Saiga 12

Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) uses a cut down Saiga-12 with a shortened barrel, the stock removed, a laser sight, and a 20-round drum magazine during the tanker scene. This appears to be the exact same custom Saiga 12 from Gamer, in which Terry Crews also wielded this very weapon.

Serbu Super Shorty

A Serbu Super Shorty is used by Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren) when he contacts Munroe (Eric Roberts) and Paine (Steve Austin) on the island of Vilena.

Other

M79 Grenade Launcher

Gunnar Jansen (Dolph Lundgren) uses a M79 grenade launcher, loaded with 40mm buckshot and a laser sight during the oil tanker sequence, which blows away the entire torso of one luckless pirate. It is also used later in the film by an enemy guard, who uses it to destroy a truck Ross is standing next to.
