Coming 2 America (2021)

Coming 2 America is the 2021 Amazon Prime original sequel to the 1988 comedy Coming to America. Eddie Murphy reprises his role as Akeem Joffer, now the king of the fictional African country of Zamunda, who returns to Queens, New York, to search for his son whom he has never met. The film was directed by Craig Brewer (Black Snake Moan) and includes returning cast members Arsenio Hall, John Amos, Shari Headley, and James Earl Jones in addition to newcomers to the franchise Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, and Wesley Snipes. The sequel was originally set to be released theatrically by Paramount Pictures, but was sold to Amazon Studios due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was released digitally on Amazon Prime on March 4, 2021.
