The following firearms can be seen in the film American Outlaws:
Jesse James (Colin Farrell) carries two Colt 1851 Navy revolvers throughout the film, even carrying four in the opening battle when he fires akimbo from a horse with the reins in his teeth. Cole Younger (Scott Caan) and Bob Younger (Will McCormack) also use a Navy '51s during the opening battle. The soldiers on the train transporting Jesse to prison at the end also have Navys.Al have been converted to fire metalic cardridges but still have the loading lever to look like a percussion revolver.
Colt 1849 Pocket (Wells Fargo Model)
Jesse James (Colin Farrell) draws two cartridge-converted Colt 1849 Pocket Wells Fargo Model revolvers on the Pinkertons who show up on his farm. Frank James (Gabriel Macht) later brandishes two during the Hyperion robbery. They are clearly Wells Fargo Models as they lack loading levers.
- The pistol raised is actually a Colt Model 1860 Army cut down to make a belly gun.
Cole Younger (Scott Caan), Frank James (Gabriel Macht), Bob Younger (Will McCormack), Jim Younger (Gregory Smith), and Clell Miller (Ty O'Neal) use Colt 1851 Navy revolvers with a Richards-Mason conversion to fire metallic cartridges. Allan Pinkerton (Timothy Dalton), the gang's pursuer, also carries one that Jesse James (Colin Farrell) disarms him over in the final scene.
Colt 1860 Army
One of the soldiers on the train transporting Jesse James to prison has a Colt 1860 Army.
Double-barreled Shotgun
Cole Younger (Scott Caan) uses an exposed hammer 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun during the gang's bank robberies. Several lawmen and vigilantes also carry shotguns.
Henry 1860
Frank James (Gabriel Macht) uses a Henry 1860 throughout the film.
[[Image:Amout-win66g.jpg|thumb|none|600px|Frank nods to Cole after indicating that he is the sharpshooter.]
Springfield 1861
All of the Union soldiers in the film can be seen using Springfield 1861 rifles. At one point, Jesse James (Colin Farrell) disarms a soldier of his Springfield, using it against him.
Winchester Model 1866
The Pinkerton agents that surround the Hyperion Bank use Winchester 1866 "Yellow Boy" rifles when shooting at the James-Younger Gang.
The rifles in these pictures appear to be Henry 1860s mocked up to look like Winchester 1866 "Yellow Boy"s. - SmithandWesson36
Gatling Gun
The Union soldiers fire a Gatling Gun at the Confederate mercenaries. [[Image:Gatling_gun_1865.jpg|thumb|none|300px|An 1865 Gatling Gun.]]
