Batman & Robin is the fourth installment in the Batman film series that began with 1989's Batman. In the 1997 sequel, Batman (this time played by George Clooney) and Robin (Chris O'Donnell), backed by Batgirl (Alicia Silverstone), attempt to save Gotham City from the grips of Mr. Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger), Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman) and Bane (Jeep Swenson).
