Civilization IV is a 2005 turn-based strategy developed by Firaxis, and created by Sid Meier. The premise of the game is starting with a band of settlers in the year 4000 B.C. and creating a civilization to stand the test of time. Once the player enters the Industrial Era and beyond they have the ability to create units armed with many firearms. While the graphics are low quality (Which makes some guns difficult to I.D.), many guns are very intricate in their design and easily recognizable.
The following weapons appear in the video game Civilization IV:
Handguns
Single Action Army
If the player is granted a Great General in the Industrial Age and beyond, the Unit is seen wielding a blocky looking Single Action Army. The look of the General appears to be based off of George S. Patton, so the use of a Colt SAA is fitting.
Submachine Guns
Sa. Vz.61 Skorpion
The SAM Infantry unit wields Skorpions whenever they attack (or are attacked by) ground-based units.
M1 Thompson
The Paratrooper unit (Based off of US WWII Paratroopers) wield M1 Thompsons.
Rifles / Carbines
Spencer Carbine
The Cavalry unit (Based off the US Cavalry), is seen using what appears to be a Spencer Carbine breechloader.
Mosin Nagant
The Russian Cossack unit wields what appears to be a Mosin-Nagant, which was a standard issue rifle for them during the later 19th century.
M1 Garand
The Infantry Unit (Based off of WWII US Army) are equipped with very blocky M1 Garand rifles.
Musket (various)
The Ottoman Janissary, Rifleman, French Musketeer and Musketman units all use shoulder-muskets of various unknown make.
Kabyle Musket
The Oromo Warrior unit is armed with a Kabyle Musket.
Brown Bess Musket
The British Redcoat unit wields Brown Bess Flintlock Muskets.
AK-47
The Marine unit uses AK-47 assault rifles.
M4A1 Carbine w/ M203
The American Navy SEAL Unit wields M4A1 Carbines with mounted M203 Grenade Launchers (which are unusable). The M4s also seem to have optical scopes and suppressors. Unlike most movies and video games, the guns fire nearly as loud as they normally would.
Machine Guns
Maxim Gun
The Machine Gun unit, being based off of British WWI troops, are fittingly equipped with Vickers MK1 Machine Guns.
Launchers
Panzerschreck
The Anti-Tank Unit wields the Panzerschreck.
AT4
The SAM Infantry Unit bizarrely wield M136 AT4s that are fitted with foregrips and shoulder rests. As their name implies, they use these against aircraft only, opting to use their aforementioned Skorpions against any ground unit.
