Hotchkiss M1909
The Hotchkiss M1909 (French: Hotchkiss Modèle 1909) machine gun was developed and built by Hotchkiss et Cie. and adopted in 1909 by the French army. It chambers the 8mm Lebel round. This machine gun was also known as the Hotchkiss Portative ("portable Hotchkiss") because of its lesser weight in comparison with heavy machine guns. This machine gun was also adopted in the USA as the Benet-Mercie Machine Rifle, Caliber .30 U. S. Model of 1909 for .30-06 caliber.
