World of Warships: Legends is a free-to-play naval combat video game developed by Wargaming.net, set in the mid-20th century and focusing on strategic, multiplayer battles between iconic warships. As an independently created console version of the 2015 MMO World of Warships, Legends offers a thrilling naval warfare experience designed specifically for consoles. The game features numerous iconic warships from the navies of France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United States, and two sub-factions: Pan-Asia and Pan-Europe. Players can choose from over 350 destroyers, cruisers, battleships, and aircraft carriers, each with distinct playstyles tied to their respective nations.

The gameplay revolves around fast-paced naval combat, where players engage in tactical battles on the open seas using realistic ship mechanics, powerful weapons, and strategic maneuvering. The game emphasizes teamwork, coordination, and strategy, requiring players to manage their ships' resources, select the right ammunition, and carefully position themselves to gain an advantage. Multiple game modes are available, including ranked battles, co-op missions, and special events, where players can team up with friends or face off in competitive matches.

With a simplified progression system and shorter battle durations compared to the PC version, World of Warships: Legends is optimized for console play. The game offers an accessible interface and streamlined controls suited for gamepads, making it easier for players to dive into naval warfare. While the core gameplay remains similar to the PC version, Legends includes unique content, such as specific ships and events, that is exclusive to the console version. Players can unlock and upgrade ships, captains, and various equipment as they advance, providing an engaging and rewarding experience.

The following weapons appear in the video game World of Warships: Legends:

Aircraft Machine Guns

Despite being a game focusing on naval warfare, each nation has access to different aircraft for multiple tasks. Following the February 2021 update, aircraft carriers are also available with more carrier aircraft for the American and Japanese navies. Aircraft Machine Guns are crucial for the air support roles provided by carriers. These weapons are mounted on carrier-based aircraft, such as fighters, bombers, and torpedo bombers, to offer defensive and offensive capabilities during battles. Their primary role is to engage enemy aircraft, protecting friendly ships and other aircraft from airstrikes while also dealing damage to surface targets when necessary. Aircraft Machine Guns are essential for both offense and defense, supporting carriers in maintaining air superiority and enhancing their overall effectiveness in naval warfare.

Naval Machine Guns

In World of Warships: Legends, naval machine guns serve a crucial role in providing close-range fire support, especially against smaller and faster targets like aircraft and destroyers. These guns are typically mounted on various warships and are designed for rapid fire, offering high rates of fire and substantial anti-aircraft capabilities.

Their primary purpose is to intercept and destroy enemy planes, particularly those attempting to launch torpedo runs or drop bombs on a player's ship. While machine guns can deal damage to enemy ships, their effectiveness against larger, heavily armored vessels is limited. Instead, their strength lies in disrupting enemy aircraft and preventing them from engaging or damaging the player's ship, enhancing the overall defense and survivability of the ship in battle.

Breda Modello 31

Various Italian ships have mounted Breda Modello 31 machine guns.

Naval Guns

Naval guns are the primary weapon systems for most warships, including battleships, cruisers, and some destroyers. They come in a range of calibers, from smaller medium-caliber guns to large, powerful battleship guns. Naval guns are designed to deliver high-explosive or armor-piercing shells at long range, making them essential for engaging enemy ships.

The primary purpose of naval guns is to inflict heavy damage on enemy vessels, especially large ones like battleships and cruisers. They can also be used for anti-aircraft defense when equipped with certain shells or upgrades. Naval guns are crucial for long-range combat, allowing players to strategically target and destroy enemy ships while maintaining distance. Their effectiveness is influenced by factors such as gun caliber, shell type, and the player's skill in aiming and positioning, making them a versatile and vital tool in naval combat.

1.1"/75 caliber gun

A small-caliber naval gun, the 1.1"/75 caliber gun was mainly used for close-in-anti-air defense on early 20th-century warships. In World of Warships: Legends, it is typically mounted on older destroyers and smaller vessels, providing rapid-fire capability against aircraft.
