Latest revision as of 12:53, 17 February 2020
The following weapons were used in Season 2 of the television series Castle:
Pistols
Glock 17
Several NYPD detectives including Kevin Ryan (Seamus Dever) use a Glock 17 as their sidearm in Season 2. Criminals also like them, one was used with a suppressor to murder Roger Farraday (Dean Cates) in A Deadly Game (S2E24).
Glock 19
Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) carries the more compact Glock 19. Ryan and Esposito also appear to carry the pistol in some episodes. Det. Tom Demming (Michael Trucco) also carries one.
Glock 26
A Glock 26 serves as Det. Beckett's backup gun, it's most notably seen when she hands it to Castle to defend himself in "Boom" (S2E18), when they enter the warehouse where a killer is suspected to be hiding. He uses it to shoot Kate's Glock 19 out of the killer's hand. Afterwards, Castle reveals that "he was aiming for his head" (presumably another one of the many references to Nathan Fillion's previous series Firefly.)
M1911
In "The Third Man" (S2E14), Noel du Preez (Michael Enright) uses a compensated M1911-type to shoot at the team when he thinks they're robbers stealing from his store.
Colt Government Model
Former NYPD officer, and Esposito's former partner Ike Thornton (Aaron D. Spears) is seen with a Colt Government Model during in "Den of Thieves" (S2E21), off camera Esposito uses it to wound dirty Lt. Holliwell.
Heckler & Koch USP
A two-tone Heckler & Koch USP was used by the killer to threaten Castle, then by Beckett after she disarms him in "Deep in Death" (S2E01).
Ruger KP90
The killer uses a Ruger KP90 during his activities in "Boom!" (S2E18). FBI Special Agent Jordan Shaw (Dana Delany) briefly uses it near the end of the same episode.
SIG-Sauer P226
NYPD officers are occasionally carrying the SIG-Sauer P226. After disarming an officer, Rathborne holds Castle hostage with one in "Sucker Punch" (S2E13).
SIG Pro SP 2009
Jack Coonan (Justin Alvarez) had a 9mm SIG Pro in his waistband when he was killed in "Sucker Punch" (S2E13).
Smith & Wesson 3913
A Smith & Wesson 3913 is owned by Jeremy Preswick (Marc Blucas), and used by Darius Langley (John Paul Pitoc) to kill Victor Fink and shoot Preswick in "The Fifth Bullet" (S2E11).
STI 2011 Edge
An STI Edge is seen being handled by Ben Conrad, then used by Scott Dunn (Dameon Clarke) to execute him off camera in "Tick, Tick, Tick" (S2E17).
Walther PP
Scarlett Price (Michaela McManus) holding the Walther PP in "Love Me Dead" (S2E09).
Walther PPK
Internal Affairs Bureau Lt. Stan Holliwell (Scott Cohen) uses a suppressed Walther PPK near the end of "Den of Thieves" (S2E21).
Revolvers
Colt Detective Special
NYPD Captain Roy Montgomery (Ruben Santiago-Hudson) uses a Colt Detective Special in "Sucker Punch" (S2E13).
Smith & Wesson Model 15
A Smith & Wesson Model 15 is used by the killer in "One Man's Treasure" (S2E10).
Firefly Custom Revolver (Modified Taurus 85)
Castle (Nathan Fillion) is briefly seen dressed in a "Space Cowboy" costume, a deliberate nod to that worn by Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds in the series Firefly (Fillion's former television series). Castle is even seen wielding the modified Taurus 85 during the opening sequence of "Vampire Weekend" (S2E06). In Firefly, the revolver was known as a "Moses Brothers Self-Defense Engine Frontier Model B". Castle's daughter tells him that he wore that costume five years ago.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A4
An Heckler & Koch MP5A4 with a weaponlight, and Navy trigger group was used by a drug dealer while stealing a victim's body in Season 2's premiere "Deep in Death" (S2E01).
Heckler & Koch MP5K
During the events of "A Deadly Game" (S2E24), a Heckler & Koch MP5K is found in the car of Roger Farraday (Dean Cates). It was issued to him as part of a "spycation" where Farraday, under the guise of CIA hitman Sean Caldwell, was supposed to "assassinate" a foreign minister with it.
Assault Rifles
Heckler & Koch HK416
While not clearly seen, several FBI HRT agents use HK416's with 10" barrels, notably in "Tick, Tick, Tick" (S2E17) and "Boom!" (S2E18).
M4A1
Esposito (Jon Huertas), as well as most NYPD ESU officers use M4A1's when needed. FBI HRT agents can be seen wielding both M4A1's and HK416's during "Tick, Tick, Tick..." (S2E17) and "Boom!" (S2E18). Some of the M4's used are in reality airsoft replicas.
MGC M16A1 Replica
In "Vampire Weekend" (S2E06), Esposito (Jon Huertas) is seen carrying an MGC M16 replica fitted with an M203 grenade launcher during Castle's Halloween party while dressed up as a US Marine (an in-joke as Huertas portrayed US Marine Sgt. Antonio Espera in the HBO miniseries Generation Kill).
Shotgun
Remington 870
In "Sucker Punch" (S2E13), the victim Jack Coonan (Justin Alvarez) had one loaded with hollow point slugs in his apartment.
Other
Taser X26
Castle is seen using an X26 to take down a suspect in "Tick, Tick, Tick" (S2E17).
