Max Payne is the 2008 feature film adaptation of the popular videogame series of the same name. Directed by John Moore, the film stars Mark Wahlberg as Payne, an NYPD detective obsessed with finding the people behind the murder of his family.
The following weapons were used in the film Max Payne (2008):
WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Pistols
Beretta 92FS
Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg) uses a Beretta 92FS as his main sidearm in the film. After BB "saves" him from Jack Lupino and then BB's assistant knocks him out and the gun was presumably taken after being knocked out because he is not seen using it in the rest of the film.
Max loads up his Beretta 92FS before heading to the train station.
Max chambers his Beretta 92FS before entering his partner Det. Balder's (
Donal Logue) house. Real cops typically keep their sidearms with a round in the chamber at all times, but Hollywood likes the image and sound of racking the slide.

Max's Beretta 92FS is knocked away when he is attacked in Balder's house.
Max points his Beretta 92FS at Owen Green (
Joel Gordon) while using a decent Harries technique to keep the flashlight level.
Max holds his Beretta 92FS on Jason Colvin (
Chris O'Donnell) while interrogating him about his wife's murder.
Max fires his Beretta 92FS during the shootout with the ESU team in the Aesir building.
SIG-Sauer P226R
BB's right hand man, Joe, uses a SIG-Sauer P226R as his sidearm. Mona Sax (Mila Kunis) gives another P226R to Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg), who uses it when confronting BB Hensley (Beau Bridges) on the roof.
A guard draws his SIG-Sauer P226R in the night club.
Joe points his SIG-Sauer P226R at Max before he smacks the gun away.
Max runs into BB's office firing the SIG-Sauer P226R.
A better shot of the SIG-Sauer P226R.
Max points the SIG-Sauer P226R at BB.
Max keeps the P226R level long enough for a fair amount of snow to cluster on it. The snow used is fake snow, as real snow would melt from Max's body heat as he handles the gun and the fact he fired it moments before.
The gun cycles. We then see the bullet fly to its target. In reality, a bullet is in its target commonly before the gun even cycles.
Springfield Custom Professional 1911-A1
BB Hensley (Beau Bridges) carries what appears to be a Springfield Custom Professional 1911-A1 as his sidearm in the film, and uses it to shoot at Max (Mark Wahlberg) as he runs away.

Amaury Nolasco).

Para-Ordnance Warthog
Mona Sax (Mila Kunis) uses a Para-Ordnance Warthog fitted with a sound suppressor to kill an Aesir security guard.
Para-Ordnance Warthog - .45 ACP
Mona kills a guard with her suppressed Para-Ordnance Warthog. The gun doesn't cycle when fired and the hammer only falls once, so it is possible that the gun wasn't loaded at all.
Glock 17
While Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg) is hallucinating in the Aesir building, one Aesir security guard tries to sneak up on him armed with a Glock 17 but is gunned down by Mona Sax (Mila Kunis) first.

Revolvers
Taurus Judge
Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg) carries a Taurus Judge revolver in .410 Bore and .45 Long Colt as his backup gun in the film. The gun's ultimate power is grossly misinterpreted, since Hollywood sees this as simply a "shotgun revolver", when in fact the .45 Long Colt it fires has more effective stopping power than the .410 bird-shot rounds it typically fires (based on the shot pattern left by the gun in the film, it is assumed he uses bird-shot). Somehow he manages to fire six shots from a five shot cylinder in this scene. In the commentary, the director oddly calls it the "Taurus P38".

Max draws his Taurus Judge.
Max fires his Taurus Judge at the thug crawling under the bathroom stalls.
Max blows open the stalls with his Taurus Judge, which wouldn't blast open doors like this in real life. What's interesting is that all the stalls appear to be locked, which was likely done so the explosives used to imitate the shotgun blast could be consistent with each door, and locking them shut makes that easier. Also, note how the impact on the wall is misaligned with the gun.

Max surrenders his Taurus Judge when being held up by Mona Sax (
Mila Kunis).
A CGI-replicated Taurus Judge is seen firing in the credits, although its actual look is off from the true gun.
Colt Detective Special
While at the train station, a junkie pulls a Colt Detective Special with a de-spurred hammer on Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg) before he disarms him and tosses it in the running sink. When the film flashes back and we see Max come home to find his family murdered, he dispatches several hired thugs with his issued Detective Special.

Charter Arms Undercover
A Charter Arms Undercover hammerless is seen on the table when Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg) is cleaning and loading his guns. Max is later seen firing it at an assailant in Balder's house.
Charter Arms Undercover (older-model) - .38 Special
Charter Arms Undercover circled in red. Notice the shotgun shells next to the Taurus Judge, confirming that it is the .410 version
Max lets loose six rounds from his Undercover while firing through the holster at the attacker in Balder's house. The holster is attached to his ankle, which proves it is not his Taurus Judge, which he keep in a cross draw hip holster.
Smith & Wesson Model 10 Heavy Barrel
Lt. Jim Bravura (Chris "Ludacris" Bridges) carries a Smith & Wesson Model 10 HB as his sidearm in the film and holds it on Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg) when he confronts him in the Aesir building.

Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5KA4
Mona Sax (Mila Kunis) carries a Heckler & Koch MP5KA4 fitted with a 15-round magazine as an unconventional sidearm hidden under her jacket by a sling. During the final assault, Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg) duel-wields two MP5Ks with 30-round magazines, effectively dispatching Aesir Security by the dozens. When Max confronts BB Hensley (Beau Bridges) on the building rooftop, BB fires on Max with an MP5K, but it runs empty before he can score a fatal hit.

Winchester 1300 Defender
Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg) uses a pistol gripped Winchester 1300 Defender to clear out the drug warehouse. In typical Hollywood fashion, anyone hit with the shotgun blast is launched 10 feet back, which doesn't happen in real life.

To stay faithful to the game, here Max dives backwards and does the famous "Shoot Dodge". If you look closely, he pumps the action inward, but never back so the gun somehow fires with the action open.

Remington 870
During the final battle, several Aesir security guards wield both full length and pistol gripped Remington 870 shotguns. Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg) picks up a pistol gripped model and uses it to dispatch some guards before the drug he took overpower him.
