Dark Phoenix is the seventh and final mainline installment in Fox's X-Men film series. Set primarily in the year 1992, the 2019 sequel follows Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) as she tries to control her new powers following an accident during a mission. The sequel, which continues to feature the cast from X-Men: First Class, was adapted from the "Dark Phoenix" comic book storyline, which had been previously used as the basis for 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand. Dark Phoenix also marked the directorial debut of Simon Kinberg, who had previously co-written the screenplays for three films in the X-Men film series. For its release on home video, the movie was retitled X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
The following weapons were used in the film X-Men: Dark Phoenix:
Rifles/Carbines
M4A1 Carbine
US Army Rangers are seen armed with the M4A1 carbine. M4A1 carbines are used as well as by members of the Mutant Containment Unit (MCU) while engaging Vuk (Jessica Chastain). Magneto (Michael Fassbender) then manipulates several carbines to shoot at Vuk. Since the movie takes place in 1992, the use of this weapon would be anachronistic.
M16A2
M16A2 rifles are carried by the US military transporting the mutants.
Handguns
Glock 17
3rd Generation Glock 17s are another weapon manipulated by Magneto (Michael Fassbender). As with the M4A1s, these weapons are anachronistic - the 3rd Generation Glocks were not introduced until 1998.
Shotguns
Kel-Tec KSG
The Kel-Tec KSG shotgun is used by members of the MCU to fire taser darts. Since the movie takes place in 1992, the KSG is anachronistic as the shotgun was first introduced in 2011.
Machine Guns
Browning M2 Heavy Machine Gun
US military helicopters have the Browning M2 heavy machine gun mounted as doorguns.
