Thanks for help with pistol identification! Greg-Z 10:38, 29 April 2012 (CDT)

1000 ways to die

You appear to be uploading images from the series 1000 Ways to Die, however these images appear to be of vastly inferior quality. Please find better quality sources for your screen captures. You can use a program such as Fast Stone Image Viewer to capture images from your computer screen. --Ben41 21:15, 2 May 2012 (CDT)

Not a valid title

This is NOT a film. It is NOT a narrative series. It is basically a documentary series which is not allowed. Sure there are reenactments but so did other banned series like "DEA" or "Houston SWAT" or the various History Channel shows. MoviePropMaster2008 21:39, 2 May 2012 (CDT)

Gun Images

When you add a gun image to a movie page, please dont make it 600px. Only screencaps need to be 600. Gun images should be 300-400. --Zackmann08 21:09, 17 May 2012 (CDT)

Mossberg HS12

You need to look at the Mossberg HS12 page that you created because it is NOT formatted correctly. --Zackmann08 12:30, 28 May 2012 (CDT)

You added television occurances using the the table for a video game... You place "The Walking dead" in the "Game Title" column... etc. etc. You also didn't add the "this weapon has appeared in...." --Zackmann08 18:38, 28 May 2012 (CDT)

Hey man. Thanks for your help IDing guns on the CSI page. :-) One word of advice for future reference. When attempting to identify a gun, post on the discussion page if you are not certain, that way people don't have to undo your edits. (Here's an example). Thanks for your help though!! --Zackmann08 11:06, 10 June 2012 (CDT)

Just like that! Perfect. Thanks man! --Zackmann08 12:59, 10 June 2012 (CDT)

Auction Hunters

Sorry, but Auction Hunters is a reality/documentary and is not eligible for this site. The general rule is that if the series is a reality or documentary using real weapons, it is mostly not eligible. If you still have questions, then ask me or another admin. --Ben41 00:39, 26 June 2012 (CDT)

I have removed the screenshots. In the future, please use High quality sources when grabbing screenshots. HD is preferable. --Ben41 00:50, 26 June 2012 (CDT)

Edit Summary

Please watch the language that you put in your edit summaries. Things such as "Get the fuck out before I hunt you like a deer", "Shut your fucking mouth" and "die" are not necessary. Just place "SPAM" in the summary or leave it blank. --Zackmann08 13:07, 8 July 2012 (CDT)

New Ideas

One word or warning... While I LOVE your new idea, and I believe other admins will as well, before you make any other new types of pages, you need to get admin approval. I am all for creating new things that can be useful but there is a proper way to do it. I was the one who came up with the Manufacturer pages a while back, but I needed to get the OK from the admins before I created all of them. If you have another idea, please post it in the forum, on the Main Page Discussion or talk to an admin one-on-one. As I said, I am all in favor of floating new ideas, but if you go about it the wrong way it can annoy the admins. Hope you get what I mean and again, I really do like your idea for the List of firearms used by U.S. Armed Forces! :-) --Zackmann08 09:14, 19 July 2012 (CDT)

Also, when you need to link to a particular gun that is a subsection of a larger page (such as the M1911 which is part of the M1911 pistol series), instead of putting M1911, you need to simply put M1911? The reason for this is 2 fold. One, if the M1911 is ever moved from this page, the other format will no longer work. (Now obviously in THIS case, the M1911 is never going to be moved from the M1911 pistol series page. But we ran into this issue when we reorganized this page and had to redo EVERY page that linked to the Kimber models or the Springfield models, etc.). Secondly, if the subheading is ever changed (say from "M1911" to "Colt M1911", this link will not work any more. In either case of a change happening, the M1911 redirect can simply be changed instead of having to change EVERY page. Does that make sense?? I'm trying to make this easier so that it will work better in the future. I know this is a little confusing so let me know if I don't make sense. You can also see the discussion about this in the forum. :-) --Zackmann08 09:17, 19 July 2012 (CDT)
Gotcha. The issue is that only Bunni can approve new members on the forum. Post a message on his talk page. I'll also mention it to him when I talk to him later. In the mean time, just use the Main Page discussion. --Zackmann08 13:55, 19 July 2012 (CDT)

Forum Approval

What email did you use to signup or what username? bunni 16:36, 19 July 2012 (CDT)

You're approved. (: bunni 16:46, 19 July 2012 (CDT)

Hi. Nice to meet you. Your 15 too, eh? That makes me feel more comfortable. I certainly will come to you or an admin if I need help. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Reality and Docs

The primary purpose of the site is to document what firearms were used in scripted media. Originally the site had started out with just films and then television and videogames were added. Reality shows' use of firearms is usually relegated to re-enactments or test firing of real weapons and is not something the site wants to document now. Some documentaries and historical shows that already had extensive work done on them were allowed to stay, but most now have not been allowed. There are enough films and television series that haven't been documented yet and would better serve the site's purpose other than reality series. --Ben41 02:27, 29 July 2012 (CDT)

Black bars

Please crop the black bars off of images before uploading. Thanks. --Funkychinaman 10:10, 3 August 2012 (CDT)

Black Ops screenshots

Could you please use entire screenshots rather than cutting out everything but the weapon? It results in bad aspect ratios and makes the page look hideous with lots of tiny mismatched thumbnail-sized images. Evil Tim 13:23, 14 August 2012 (CDT)

Ok, put them up as placeholders for identification if they're really all you can get, but please replace them as soon as is practical. We've got too many pages which just have oddly-shaped lower-right crops and they're always the visual equivalent of a car crash.

Just for future reference, lifting chunks of a description from another source, including Wikipedia, is against the rules. Also, be sure to proofread any weapon descriptions you publish to make sure their grammar and syntax is correct and that the information is presented in a clear, easy-to-follow manner.--PistolJunkie 21:50, 15 August 2012 (CDT)

Friday the 13th Series

Thanks for the screencaps. However, because this is a movie series, these need to be separated into individual movie pages. This Friday The 13th Series can be kept and made into a category page much like the James Bond page. --Ben41 12:31, 27 August 2012 (CDT)

Can you redo the caps with the captions? You can turn them off in Netflix. --Funkychinaman 13:15, 28 August 2012 (CDT)
And why don't you split the page before you start doing the actor pages? Since you're not using redirects, you'd have to go back and fix the links when the split is done. --Funkychinaman 13:18, 28 August 2012 (CDT)
When are you going to start splitting? --Funkychinaman 12:12, 31 August 2012 (CDT)
Thanks. --Funkychinaman 12:19, 31 August 2012 (CDT)

The gun on a Hind-A isn't a Yak-B; I don't know the actual name for it since almost all the writeups about the Hind you find assume you're talking about a -D model, but it only has one barrel. Evil Tim 20:17, 2 September 2012 (CDT)

Just FYI, the gun on the Mi-24A (don't say Hind-A as that is a NATO designation referring to several different versions with different armaments) has a Afanasev A-12.7 machine gun. --commando552 (talk) 17:47, 7 September 2012 (EDT)

Dead Island

It's just a tattoo. This weapon is not included in the game, so they put it there. The article is long over. Show me the gameplay uzi accept them. --MTOOO (talk) 03:03, 9 September 2012 (EDT)

Saw your edit on the HK rifle series page... Someone watch sons of guns this week didnt they... ;-) --Zackmann08 (talk) 14:47, 15 September 2012 (EDT)

Black Ops

Done. :) Evil Tim (talk) 08:18, 21 November 2012 (EST)

Higher Learning

It's up to you. I honestly don't think any of the admins are going to give you grief about it, given the differences between the two. --Funkychinaman (talk) 23:33, 16 December 2012 (EST)

BTW, when you upload poster or cover art, try to find images that are at least 300px wide. Thanks. --Funkychinaman (talk) 23:33, 16 December 2012 (EST)
Your initial instincts may have been right. I probably would have waited a bit longer. --Ben41 (talk) 17:02, 17 December 2012 (EST)

Please remember to tag your screenshots with and poster and cover art with . Thanks. --Funkychinaman (talk) 12:17, 9 February 2013 (EST)

Unless you intend to personally watch and screencap all 738 (and counting) episodes of SNL by yourself, I urge you not to create a page. The fewer incomplete pages we have, the better. --Funkychinaman (talk) 01:43, 19 February 2013 (EST)

738 and counting. More importantly, you have to realize that not every sketch was released on home video, so it can't EVER be complete. I can also point out that it's highly likely that none of the guns are actually real, considering they're in New York and it's a live show. And just for fun, let's run the numbers: assuming you cover four episodes a night, every night, it'll take you at least six months to finish. --Funkychinaman (talk) 01:53, 19 February 2013 (EST)
Don't do one season and leave the other 37 assuming someone is going to pick it us. That is not cool, and it WILL be deleted. --Funkychinaman (talk) 01:58, 19 February 2013 (EST)
If you have Netflix and you're looking for projects, the X-Files and MI-5 pages need work. MI-5 only has 86 episodes total. --Funkychinaman (talk) 02:13, 19 February 2013 (EST)

Actor and Weapon pages

When you create a new media page, please remember to make the corresponding edits on appropriate actor and weapon pages. --Funkychinaman (talk) 13:05, 22 February 2013 (EST)

Once again, please remember to amend any appropriate actor and weapon page whenever you create a page. --Funkychinaman (talk) 10:44, 9 March 2013 (EST)

Uploading images

I ran into the directory error two weeks ago. Try renaming the file. --Funkychinaman (talk) 13:29, 24 February 2013 (EST)

Featured page

You can put it on the featured page talk page, but I don't make the call. Ben's the one that usually decides. --Funkychinaman (talk) 15:26, 25 February 2013 (EST)

Problems with Screenshots

The problem may be with the browser you are using. Trying using a different internet browser and see if you can upload. --Ben41 (talk) 19:03, 25 February 2013 (EST)

Actor and weapons pages

I just want to remind you again to please remember to update the actor and weapon pages for the media pages you create. This is the third time I've had to ask you. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:37, 19 April 2013 (EDT)

The "Ongoing" banner is taken off when that particular season of the series has finished. --Ben41 (talk) 17:55, 29 May 2013 (EDT)

PR: Normandy

Thanks for telling me, I didn't know there was a WIP thing. Mance1462 (talk) 8:44 PM, 2 July 2013 (EST)

Thank you

Thanks for the clarification on the loading images. Andrey Karchikyan 0:40 28 July 2013 (MSK)

Sterling Mk6

The image you uploaded of Sterling Mk6 was completely watermarked and was therefore deleted. --Ben41 (talk) 15:14, 3 August 2013 (EDT)

M1917 chemical grenade

You have added the info that deactivated versions were used for training up until the 1980s. What is the source of this info? The last manual for this grenade appeared in 1927, and there are no official Soviet Army documents on this grenade after late 1920s. M1917 was mentioned in German Kennblatter Fremden Gerats (1942) with remark that it isn't in service. The article "Soviet Hand Grenades" in Intelligence Bulletin (June 1946) is the last mention about this grenade that I've ever seen. All M1917 grenades that are currently seen in Russian museums were produced in 1917. Greg-Z (talk) 04:37, 4 August 2013 (EDT)

Red links for actors in Battleground

Have you plans to create pages about actors who appear in Battleground (2012)? There is a lot of red links (Hugh Lambe, Bryan Larkin, Bob Cymbalski etc.) and many good screenshots for actors pages. If you don't plan to create actors pages then would you allow me to do this work? Thanks! Greg-Z (talk) 03:29, 2 December 2013 (EST)

Thanks for your input on slasher films

I wanted to thank you for your work, especially on Slasher Film sub-genre. I really like slashers so it was a great pleasure to read your takes on Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), A, Friday the 13th series, Maniac Cop and others. --Kloga (talk) 14:27, 15 December 2013 (EST)
