The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
|
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a 2011 US mystery thriller remake of the Swedish film of the same name, both based on the Stieg Larsson novel. In the film, journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) is hired to investigate the disappearance of a girl who went missing over 40 years ago. In the course of his investigation, he is aided by the gifted but socially incompetent computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara). The remake was directed by David Fincher and the cast included Christopher Plummer, Steven Berkoff, and Stellan Skarsgård. The Millennium series would continue in 2018 with the feature film sequel The Girl in the Spider's Web, which starred Claire Foy as Salander.
The following weapons were used in the film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo:

SIG-Sauer P228
Martin Vanger (Stellan Skarsgård) keeps a SIG-Sauer P228 for his home protection. He uses it near the end of the film. Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) later takes the gun before pursuing him. In the book, Martin's pistol was an unidentified Glock model.
Hunting Rifle
Several members of the searchparty can be seen walking through the woods with hunting rifles in the flashback sequence.
Gun cabinet
Three rifles can briefly be seen in Vanger's guncase when Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) is searching Vanger's house. The one to the left could possibly be a milspec Swedish Mauser 96 (not implausible since the movie takes place in Sweden). The center rifle and the third rifle to the right both appear to be bolt action sporters.
