Still in service?

Wiki and this site imply the M40 is still in service, but is it really? I've never heard of it being used anytime recently and i can't see how it could somehow stick around this long without showing up in Iraq or Afganistan.--Mandolin (talk) 18:29, 5 January 2018 (EST)

While it's not been in frontline service since the 70s (forgot to change that field), as far as I can tell there's still enough of them in inventory that they affected the designation of the M40 sniper rifle. There's always a little confusion because of the question of who it's in service with: these are one of the go-to weapons for arming technicals because they're big, powerful and any idiot can make ammo for them. Plus apparently the Danish and Australians were using them in Afghanistan, because the ammo is cheap, there's no minimum range to speak of, and it doesn't care about desert conditions.
