Talk:Bureau: XCOM Declassified, The
Should we update the title of this article to reflect the now-revealed title? Also there's a few new screens released of the game.
I'm seeing what looks like an M14, an M1903 Springfield and the previously identified Winchester M1897. --QueenSasha24 (talk) 16:16, 26 April 2013 (EDT)
I've updated the title, but are any of the screenshots currently on the page still relevant? --Funkychinaman (talk) 11:26, 3 May 2013 (EDT)
I don't think they said anything about reworking the game so maybe the title is the only change. --Iceman (talk) 09:31, 4 May 2013 (EDT)
- I heard it was getting turned into a third-person shooter. The official website doesn't have any gameplay though. --Funkychinaman (talk) 12:05, 4 May 2013 (EDT)
- I too have heard that it was now a third-person shooter. I don't think much remains from the original concept. --SmithandWesson36 (talk) 03:28, 5 May 2013 (EDT)
Preserving code
The page as it exists now is no longer representative of what the final product will be. I'm going to archive what we do have for reference. --Funkychinaman (talk) 12:19, 13 July 2013 (EDT)
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified (without the dash) is 2K's reboot of the classic X-COM series of strategy games, tentatively planned for 2013. Unlike the originals, it is an FPS set across a stylized 1960s America invaded by extraterrestrials known as "The Outsiders". The player has access to several contemporary firearms along with several reversed-engineered alien ones.
The following weapons appear in the video game The Bureau: XCOM Declassified:
M3A1 Grease Gun
The M3A1 Grease Gun appears to be the default weapon of the XCOM agency, where it appears to be modified with a custom stock. It is predictably ineffective against the the Outsiders' armor and shielding.
Winchester 1897 "Trench Gun"
The trench gun model of the Winchester Model 1897 "Trench Gun" is the other standard long arm of XCOM agents. The close-range power of the Winchester make it more useful against the alien invaders.
