Shin Ultraman (シン・ウルトラマン, Shin Urutoraman) is a 2022 Tsuburaya Productions film co-produced with Toho and Khara and directed by Shinji Higuchi and written by Hideaki Anno. Made as a 55th anniversary film for the long running Ultraman television franchise, the movie was originally slated for a 2021 release but got delayed to a 2022 release due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Shin Ultraman serves as a movie adaption of the original 1966 Ultraman show. The story follows the S-Class Species Suppression Protocol or SSSP for short, a group who study giant monsters or kaiju as they try to uncover the mystery of a giant, silver alien humanoid superhero who protects Japan from several invading monsters and other hostile aliens, unaware that one of their own members, Shinji Kaminaga (Takumi Saitoh), is the host of the otherworldly protector from the stars and can transform into him when the citizens of Japan need a hero to save them, living not quite as either human nor alien but something in between.
