About
Marlin Firearms Co., formerly of North Haven, Connecticut, is an American manufacturer of semi-automatic, lever-action and bolt-action rifles. In the past, the company also made shotguns, derringers and revolvers. Marlin also owned the manufacturer H&R Firearms, which ceased production in February 2015. In 2007, Remington Arms, part of the Remington Outdoor Company, acquired Marlin Firearms. Remington produced Marlin-brand firearms at its Kentucky and New York manufacturing facilities until its 2020 bankruptcy and the purchase of the Marlin brand and tooling by Ruger. Ruger then moved the tooling to existing Ruger facilities.
