What is this rifle ?

336Cowboy.jpg

Looks like what I saw listed sometime back as "MARLIN MODEL 336 CB 30-30 WIN 24" OCTAGON BARREL" the CB suffix meaning Cowboy model and intended for the Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS) sports/re-enactors. --Carl N. Brown (talk) 11:11, 1 December 2014 (EST)

Marlin Model 1895 Carbine - .45-70

Don't think this is an 1895, bolt seems more like the 94 or 93. Evil Tim (talk) 05:09, 28 March 2018 (EDT)

More than Rifles

While my first Marlin was a Model 99G rifle, my second was a Model 55 shotgun. Marlin Firearms made several models of sporting shotguns. I believe John Marlin initially made defensive pistols in the 1870s, then started making lever action rifles and pump shotguns in the 1880s. In WWI Marlin made machineguns for the Allies. In WWII Marlin made the UD42 submachinegun used by the OSS. --Carl N. Brown (talk) 11:11, 1 December 2014 (EST)
