The Legend of Tarzan is a 2016 adventure movie directed by David Yates (the director of four Harry Potter films and the State of Play BBC miniseries) and stars Alexander Skarsgård as the titular character. This is the 46th adaptation of the novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, since 1918. The movie takes place years after the events of the novel. Tarzan now lives in England with his wife Jane Porter (Margot Robbie) as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke. However, he returned to the Congo, where he is invited as a trade emissary of Parliament. There he is a pawn in the conspiracy of the corrupt Belgian Captain Léon Rom (Christoph Waltz).

The following weapons were used in the film The Legend of Tarzan:

Revolvers

Chamelot-Delvigne Mle. 1873

The French Chamelot-Delvigne Model 1873 is the most used revolver in the movie. It is carried by Captain Moulle (Ben Chaplin), Léon Rom (Christoph Waltz), Major Kerchover (Casper Crump), Dr. Williams (Samuel L. Jackson), and Belgian forces.

Captain Moulle defends himself with the Chamelot-Delvigne against Chief Mbonga's leopard men emerging from the mist.
Rom points his Chamelot-Delvigne at Muviro (Yule Masiteng).
Later, onboard his boat, he approaches Jane (Margot Robbie) with his revolver in hand.
"Those are some mighty big earlobe you got there, son."
After picking up a dropped Chamelot-Delvigne inside a railroad car, Dr. Williams takes aim at the Jug Eared Soldier (Richard James-Neale) who demands the French Engineer (Cédric Weber) not to say anything.
Williams' Chamelot-Delvigne weighs down a map of the engineer.
One of Rom's men holds his Chamelot-Delvigne at Jane.
Jane is threatened by one of Rome's men with a Chamelot-Delvigne pointed directly at her head.

Smith & Wesson Model 2 Double Action

Colt Walker

Instead of his previously seen Smith & Wesson revolvers, George Washington Williams (Samuel L. Jackson) dual-wielding Colt Walkers during the night attack of the Kube village. This is the only time the Colts are used.

Single Action Army

After the attack on the village, Dr. Williams (Samuel L. Jackson) is briefly seen with a nickel Single Action Army.

Rifles

Schmidt-Rubin Model 1889

Belgian and Force Publique soldiers including Major Kerchover (Casper Crump) are mainly armed with Swiss Schmidt-Rubin Model 1889 straight-pull bolt action rifles. One of Rom's men uses a scoped variant with a Davidson telescoping telescopic rifle sight which is later used by George Washington Williams (Samuel L. Jackson). Various Congolese and Kube warriors are seen wielding captured Schmidt-Rubin rifles. It is unlikely that Belgium acquired such a large number of Schmidt-Rubin rifles in 1890, as Switzerland had only equipped them for its army at that time. Historically correct would be Belgian single-shot Albini-Braendlin or M1882 Comblain falling-block rifles. These were even more common than the Belgian Mauser 1889, which was also just issued to the Belgian troops. However, Belgium conducted trials with the Austro-Hungarian Mannlicher M1886 straight-pull bolt action rifle in the 1880s which was never officially adopted.

Mauser Model 1890/38

The second most used rifle that Belgian soldiers and Rom's henchmen is the 1890 Turkish Mauser, updated with 1938 style barrels and stocks with pistol grips. These rifles should resemble the period-correct but not yet widespread Belgian Mauser 1889 and are the most anachronistic weapons in the movie.

Mauser Model 1890

In addition to the 1938 updated variant, some genuine 1890 Turkish Mausers are carried by Belgian soldiers, Congolese warriors, Rom's henchmen, and Congolese warriors including Kwete (Osy Ikhile). These Mauser rifles are also used as a stand-in for the accurate Belgian variant, but unlike the 1938 variant, they are mainly seen in the background. Compared to the almost identical 1889 Belgian Mauser, the Turkish variant has an upper handguard, an 1887 rear sight, and a thinner barrel jacket.

Winchester Model 1873

Machine Guns

Maxim 1895

Maxim 1895s are used by Belgian soldiers, Force Publique troops, and Dr. George Washington Williams. Some are mounted on gun carriages with large spoked wheels, on Rom's riverboat Adelaar, and on the train with shields.

Grenades

Two of Rom's men are seen throwing ball-hand grenades at the film's climax. Due to the fast motions, they are not seen in detail.
