I Have The Honor! (Chest Imeyu!)
|
I Have The Honor! (Russian title:Chest Imeyu!/Честь имею!) is a 2004 Russian four part Chechen War mini-series. During the Second Chechen War, Russian Airborne Troops officer Captain Chislov (Aleksandr Lazarev, Jr.) commands a company, most of whom are completely green 19-year-old boys. Diving headfirst into the horrors of modern warfare, Captain Chislov leads his men gallantly into battle. However, when the unit finds themselves in an ambush, surrounded by thousands of Chechen separatists and jihadist volunteers, Captain Chislov must do everything he can to lead his men home.
The mini-series is based on the real-life Battle for Height 776. On 29 February 2000,the 6th company of the 104th Guards Air Assault Regiment from Pskov was attacked by Chechen and Arab fighters (whose numbers were believed to be upwards of 2,000+) near the village of Ulus-Kert in Chechnya's southern lowlands. During heavy fighting, 84 Russian soldiers were killed (only 6 paratroopers survived). Separatists casualties are disputed, with causality figures as low as 70 and as high as over 700 cited.
