Fletch (1985)


Fletch is a 1985 comedy starring Chevy Chase as a Los Angeles newspaper reporter who is presented with an unusual proposition by a wealthy individual. The film was based on a series of novels by Gregory McDonald and spawned a 1989 sequel.

The Colt Detective Special 3rd Generation is the revolver carried by several cops in the film. When Fletch is confronted in his apartment, one of the detectives (James Avery) puts one to his head. Chief Karlin (Joe Don Baker) also aims one at Fletch in the police lockup.
