Deadly Blessing is a 1981 American horror mystery. The film tells the story of a mysterious figure committing murder in a modern rural community that is situated next to a religious community (modeled after the Amish) that believes in ancient evil and curses. It stars Ernest Borgnine, Michael Berryman, Maren Jensen, Susan Buckner (both women making their last feature film screen appearances), and Sharon Stone in an early role. Wes Craven directed and co-wrote the movie. It is considered a transitional piece connecting his controversial hard-edged Seventies films (The Hills Have Eyes, Last House on the Left) to his popular mainstream horror movies (Scream, A Nightmare on Elm Street).

The following weapons were used in the film Deadly Blessing:

Smith & Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman

As the murders get closer to Martha Schmidt (Maren Jensen) she acquires a Smith & Wesson Model 28 revolver and practices shooting it with her friend Vicky (Susan Buckner). Martha later uses it (effectively) when the villain comes calling.

Vicky (Susan Buckner) works on her shooting while Martha watches.
Martha (Maren Jensen) takes aim at the villain when her home is invaded.
