Pistols

Glock 17

Standard Third-Generation Glock 17 pistols are carried by B.A.U. (Behavior Analysis Unit) Chief SSA Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) and Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler). Other FBI agents and some police officers are seen with Glock 17 pistols. In "Identity" (S03E07), a milita member notably remarks on Reid's unusual frontal appendix-carry for his Glock, stating "The way you wear that gun, you're just beggin' someone to take it off ya."

A Glock 19 is also carried by Miami Detective Tina Lopez (Tia Texada) in the episode "In Heat" (S03E17) and NYPD Detective Cooper (Erik Palladino) in the Season 3 finale "Lo-Fi" (S03E20). Glock 19s are also carried by other various police officers.

Glock 26

The Glock 26 is the duty weapon of the B.A.U.'s 'Communications Liaison' SSA Jennifer 'J.J.' Jareau (A.J. Cook). She notably uses it during a standoff with Jason Clark Battle at the conclusion of "Penelope" (S03E09). The Glock 26 also is the backup weapon carried by both Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) and Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), both carried in ankle holsters. Morgan's Glock 26 is shown in two instances in Season 3 - First in the episode "In Name and Blood" (S03E02), where he gives it to Prentiss (Paget Brewster) to use when she enters the house of an unsub (as she did not have her standard Glock 19 at the time) and again in "Penelope" (S03E09), giving it to B.A.U. Technical Analyst Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) to defend herself when an unsub named James Colby Baylor (later identified as Jason Clark Battle) comes to her apartment trying to kill her.

Emily Prentiss is given a Glock 26 to enter a unsubs house in "In Name and Blood" (S03E02). This scene of her entering the unsub's house is also used in the Season 3 opening credits.

SIG-Sauer P228

FBI Senior SSA Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin) carries a SIG-Sauer P228 as his sidearm, which he began carrying in Season 2. The weapon is notably seen held by Gideon at the end of the Season 3 opening episode "Doubt" (S03E01) and later seen (for the final time) on a table at Gideon's cabin at the conclusion of the following episode "In Name and Blood" (S03E02).

Springfield Custom Professional 1911-A1

SSA David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) takes up a Springfield Custom Professional 1911-A1 in "About Face" (S3E06). He carries the Springfield as his sidearm from then on in the series. Rossi has a background of serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, which possibly helps explain his use of a 1911-type pistol. It should be noted that it is FBI firearms policy that only FBI Special Agents who are a current or were a former member of the FBI Hostage Rescue Team or a FBI Regional SWAT Team are actually authorized to carry the 1911-A1 .45 caliber pistol.

Beretta 92FS

Beretta 92FS pistols are used by many characters, including criminals and police officers. A Beretta appears to be the sidearm carried by Deputy Sheriff Jason Clark Battle (Bailey Chase), which he notably uses at the end of "Penelope" (S3E09) to hold an agent hostage at B.A.U. headquarters.

Beretta 950 Jetfire

In the Season 3 finale episode "Lo-Fi" (S03E20), unsubs use Beretta 950 Jetfire pistols to kill several civilians in New York City. Police ballistic analysts state it is chambered in .22 long rifle, and explains the caliber was most likely used since NYC background noise was often almost as loud as the report of a .22LR.

Former militia member Henry Frost (Kaj-Erik Eriksen) is seen with one holding a hostage on a hilltop in "Identity" (S03E07). A teenage unsub also uses a standard M4A1 in "Elephant's Memory" (S03E16).
