Asteroid City is a 2023 comedy-drama film directed by Wes Anderson. The film follows the writing and production of a fictional play, Asteroid City, written by Conrad Earp (Edward Norton), which follows an astrology convention in a small desert town being interrupted by an extraterrestrial visitor.

The following weapons were used in the film Asteroid City:

Colt M1911A1

The Colt M1911A1 correctly appears as the standard sidearm of the US military throughout the film.

General Gibson (Jeffrey Wright) delivers the opening speech of the Junior Stargazer Convention. The handle of his holstered 1911 can be seen.
General Gibson lowers the hammer of his 1911 as the alien descends on the asteroid.

Unknown revolver

Stanley Zak (Tom Hanks) is seen carrying an unknown revolver in his pants throughout the film.

Augie Steenbeck (Jason Schwartzman) talks to Stanley Zak (Tom Hanks) over a phone. A revolver can be seen holstered in Stanley's pants.
Stanley runs into his granddaughters burying their mother's ashes. The revolver can be seen in his pants.

Submachine Guns

M1A1 Thompson

Stockless M1A1 Thompsons are used by the US soldiers in a target practice drill.

While reloading his Thompson, one of the soldiers notices Clifford's (previously confiscated) particle disintegrator being tested out by his father.
A close-up shot is given as his fellow soldiers notice the disintegrator being used. The soldier's gun is given a better view.
The soldier aims his Thompson at J. J. Kellogg (Liev Schreiber) as Kellogg aims the disintegrator at him in a standoff.
General Gibson's aide-de-camp (Tony Revolori) orders the two to stand down.

M1 Garand

American soldiers throughout the film are seen carrying the M1 Garand.

Rifle in painting

As Jones Hall (Jason Schwartzman) does an impromptu audition for the part of Augie Steenbeck in Conrad Earp's study room, a painting of a naked cowboy with a repeating rifle can be seen.
