A Soldier's Story
A Soldier's Story is a 1984 feature film adaptation of the Pulitzer-prize winning play of the same name. Directed by Norman Jewison and set during World War II, the film follows an African-American military investigator who is assigned the case of an African-American drill sergeant who may have been murdered by one of his recruits. The film's cast included Howard E. Rollins Jr., Denzel Washington and Adolph Caesar, who received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
