Victor Maynard ([[Bill Nighy]]) uses an [[Heckler & Koch MP5A3]] as his preferred 'sniper' weapon.  Using a submachine gun as a sniping weapon is an unusual choice, since Submachine guns are built and designed specifically for CQB.  If he wanted a 'sub rifle caliber' autoloading weapon, there are many other choices which would be more suitable.

Wild Target is a 2009 British romantic comedy directed by Jonathan Lynn (Clue, The Whole Nine Yards) starring Bill Nighy, Emily Blunt, Rupert Grint, Martin Freeman and Rupert Everett. It is a remake of the 1993 French film Cible Emouvante starring Jean Rochefort.

The following weapons were used in the film Wild Target:

Beretta 92FS

A Beretta 92FS is used by Victor Maynard (Bill Nighy) in several hits. He owns at least two, with one of them equipped with a LAM and suppressor. His mother Louisa (Eileen Atkins) calls the Beretta the "Pistol of Princes," reminding Victor that she gave him one for his seventh birthday (although it probably wasn't a modern 92FS).

"Would you like a little coffee?" Victor Maynard practices his French language skills while screwing on a suppressor.
Victor takes aim at a parrot that has learned his name, but can't quite bring himself to shoot it.
Victor with his second Beretta. This one does not have the LAM attached.
Victor assembles his Beretta blindfolded.
Tony (Rupert Grint) assembles the second Beretta blindfolded as well.
Tony fires the Beretta in Victor's range.

Heckler & Koch MP5A3

Victor Maynard (Bill Nighy) uses an Heckler & Koch MP5A3 as his preferred "sniper" weapon, which he carries in a briefcase. His mother Louisa (Eileen Atkins) uses one as well.

In a continuity error, an insert shot of Victor's (or someone's hand) flicking off the safety reveals the trigger group of a Heckler & Koch MP5A5.

The burst and full auto options appear to have been scratched out.

Smith & Wesson 686

Barney (James O'Donnell) is armed with a Smith & Wesson Model 686, which Tony and Victor later pick up.

Trivia - Bill Nighy's hand

Bill Nighy suffers from Dupuytren's contracture, which prevents him from straightening the ring and little fingers on each hand. This leads to him gripping his weapons in odd ways.

It's not just guns either.
