Norinco Type 86S (Bullpup AK-47) 7.62x39mm with rifle sling and bayonet knife.

The Norinco Type 86S is a Chinese-manufactured bullpup version of the AK-47. It was simply a Norinco AK-47 civilian rifle, redone as a bullpup design. It was rather clunky and did not exhibit fine fit or finish. It was exported for civilian use and it was sold worldwide in hopes of cashing in on the 'bullpup market' that many expected to explode in the 1980s, however despite offerings like the Steyr AUG, bullpup sales never took off. One of the reasons why the Type 86S was not a big seller was that it was considered rather 'ugly' by many firearms enthusiasts in the 1980s. The barrel compensator was disparagingly called the 'fishlips" due to it's unusual shape.
