M1903 Springfield rifles with fixed bayonets are used by soldiers when Cole is sent accidentally back to World War I rather than 1996. This is somewhat odd, as the soldiers using them are French, and the Springfield was an American rifle.

-Pardon, but why do you always think the French soldiers use Russian or American weapons? They use either Lebel or Berthier rifles but surely neither Springfields nor Nagants. Paul_Baeumer

-I don't always think french soldiers use russian or american weapons, I'm not the original author of this page, someone else suggested the Springfields. I'm also not good at identifying old rifles, I am only guessing they may be Mosin-Nagants. Also, it's a movie.....we're not saying what they SHOULD be using, we're looking at what they are using in the movie, and for all we know the armorer used Mosin-Nagants in the scene. If there's anyone who's good at identifying the old rifles, please do. - Diego Wolfwood
